London Eye I felt much better this morning after a good sleep. I met up with Jessie again this morning and we did a Big Bus Tour. One ticket and we could hop on and off for 24 hours. If anyone is going to London, I would highly recommend the bus tour, it's a great and easy way to quickly see all of London's main sights. The weather was much nicer today, although on the open top of the double decker bus the wind was freezing! Unfortunately I forgot my sweater, my sunglasses, and the memory card for my camera, so I couldn't take any photos. But it was still fun! We got off the bus down by the Aquarium and Film Museum, along the Thames River. We waited in line and went up on the London Eye. I had already been on it before, but the weather hadn't been nearly as nice as today. Besides, it's kind of a must-do in London. It's the tallest Ferris wheel in Europe! Afterwards, we had lunch at a cafe, then headed over to Oxford Street. I pretty much threw my "no shopping" rule right out the window. I really don't know what I was thinking

Views from the London Eye anyways haha. We went to Topshop and H&M and I spent quite a lot.
By this time we were getting tired, so we headed back to the hotel, where I bought a new SIM card for my iPhone. I had bought one online before I left Canada, but it didn't arrive until today. It would have cost too much to send it over, so I just bought a new one. I was hoping this would be the cheapest way to keep in contact with my parents and my boyfriend. I could reload it with credit and it was supposed to have international texting to Canada. Worst idea ever! I ended up reloading it so much it cost me around $400. And it would only work if I was texting someone with an iPhone, so I wasn't able to get in touch with my mom or sister at all. The only thing my phone was good for was Facebook (when we had wifi). Anyone travelling in Europe for a long period of time, unless you can get a great plan with your current provider, I would recommend just buying a cheap phone when you arrive, especially if you plan on

The six of us at dinner! using it a lot to call and text home. If you are only using the phone for emergencies, the free global SIM card could work for you, especially to avoid any roaming charges.
After using the Internet, I went back to my room to have a nap. When I woke up, I met my new roommate Ashley. She was from Australia, and starting a Contiki the next morning. We chatted for a little bit while I got ready for dinner.
That evening I met a few more of my tourmates: Jason and Teresa from Canada, and Ashlee from Australia. We met in the lobby of the hotel, and then headed out to Covent Garden to get dinner. I'm pretty sure we ended up at another Italian restaurant. I was feeling really tired today, and it is really sad, but I was already starting to get homesick. It was awesome to meet more tour mates though. From what I could tell we were going to have a great group!
What did I learn today? When you are travelling, ALWAYS check that you have your memory card IN your camera!
