Steve at Buckingham Palace Today we went to visit the Queen... ok not really, but we did visit where she lives! She was off on her yearly vacation to Scotland (I think). Right so for those who haven't worked it out... today we went to Buckingham Palace, the State Rooms to be exact. We had a ticket so we were able to skip the massive queues of silly people who didn't book online prior to going there. We were given a free audio guide which explained all the parts of the Palace... well the parts we were allowed to go into anyway.
I didn't think I was really that interested in the Royal family and that sort of rubbish but when I got there I was so focussed and excited! When we got to the court yard where the Royal family came after Kate and Wills were married I said to Steve 'This is where Prince William and Catherine stood' and I think I said comments like that the entire way around the Palace. My favourite part was getting to see Catherine's wedding dress and the process to make it. It is certainly not a dress I would choose, but then again I am not

Me in the gardens at Buckingham Palace... Anyone else think I look like Mum? married to a Prince (well, yes, Steve is my 'Prince Charming' but, you know, I don't get all the stuff she gets or do the things she does). I think my biggest shock is how short Catherine is... I knew she was skinny but she is also very short! Oh and her family are not so much 'commoners' as people say... they have to be absolutely loaded to have paid for the diamond earrings they had made for Catherine in which part of it was part of their family's coat of arms... Who has a family coat of arms if you are not loaded?????
I can also say that I have official peed in the grounds of Buckingham Palace... don't worry it was in a toilet... but still within the grounds of Buckingham Palace... Pretty fancy hey??
After our tour we did some more shopping and bought me some new jandles as mine were very VERY munted! It took a while to locate some but we found some Havaianas!
Has anyone ever heard of Little Ben? Tim and Carla told us to met them there at 6pm and we thought they were being silly and really talking about Big Ben,

Me at Platform 9 3/4 but they were serious... there is actually a small clock tower in the middle of an intersection called Little Ben... and it really does look like a mini Big Ben! Anyway we met up with Tim and Carla and went out for some Indian tea. We went to a street called Brick Lane where every restaurant had a man that came up to you to convince you to eat at their restaurant. We finally decided to stop at a place and Tim managed to barter with the guy and we ended up getting one free wine, beer or soft drink, 35% off our total bill and no service charge, quite the bargain I think! Aside from 3 of us getting samosas that were still cold inside for starters we actually had a nice meal.
After this we headed back to the train station for the 'real goodbye'. We were quite lucky because our train arrived so we had a quick goodbye (in which Carla and I have decided it is not goodbye, just 'see you in a while'😉... I think Steve had to hold back the tears for the rest of the train ride home! LOL We got back to our hotel and Steve was too depressed to do anything! Hehe jokes! We actually stopped at Platform 9 ¾ and I got a photo taken there... Who knows what that is??? Yip, from Harry Potter! And after my photo we headed back to our hotel!
Well that's all from me and the Queen for today!
