This McDonalds was only allowed to have a store on Champs-Eylees if it changed its name to white to fit in with the 'high-class' standards of the street. Early morning this morning as we had to be at the train station by 7am. After a few ker-fuffles (aka dramas) and we were on the train with about 4 minutes to spare before we left! On the plus side, because we were running so late we were allowed to go through Passport control on the Premium side of the area!
It was an awkward ride to Paris because I had selected a seat at a table thinking that this would be a great idea... Won't go into details... it was just... AWKWARD!
When we arrived in Paris we set off for the Underground and attempted to find some breakfast... at this time it was about 11am so it wasn't working so well and we ended up having a burger each from McDonald's! Got to our hotel at about midday, it is a nice room! We have shared toilets and shower but the good thing is that we have 2 toilets and a shower right across the hall (which is handy for those midnight pees!).
When we arrived we... alright I... had a quick nana nap before we jumped back on the beloved Underground to Champs-Eylees (the main shopping street of

Arc de Triomphe Paris). We went and had a better look at the Arc de Triomphe, we even managed to work out how to get to it via an underground passage because the thought of running across 6 lanes of traffic on the world's busiest traffic round-a-bout did not tickle my fancy!
After this we headed to the Tour Effiel where we lay on the grass and Steve slept while I went and tried to get some decent photos of the Tour Effiel (Don't know how good they are... will have to get Daniel's opinion!). When the sun was beginning to set we queued up to go up the Tour Effiel, unfortunatey because of the time we were not able to walk up the stairs to the 2nd level so had to catch the lift all the way. It was nice views by the time we made it up because the sun had just set and by the time we made it to the top of the Tour Effiel it was very dark and again it was pretty. I was quite relieved when we got out of the lift at the top because I thought it was completely enclosed... apparently not! Steve dragged

My new Havis me to the edge of the rails... I was not happy and did not stay long (I was having flash backs of Mum when we were at the light house at the top of the North Island and she stood by the light house the whole time while we were right on the edge of the cliff). Since it was an early start to the day we were aiming to be 'home' on time, we looked at our watch when we were at the top of the tower and it was already 11pm... oh well!
It was nice day in Paris and the weather was fantastic unlike last time we were here!
