i love london. its a very liveable city with so much going on. things are MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE then i thought though. i expected it but its crazy when you see how easy you spend so much money. eating out is the biggest expense. a market called salisbury or something like that though is pretty reasonable and a good amount of the stuff is about the same as stuff back at home. the food is pretty good too. i got a vegetable chili stuffed in a potato for about 2 usd. my parents and i got a bunch of groceries with my family and it was a little over 50 usd. not bad! so far ive already seen the british museum (boring), tower of london, hyde park where the peter pan statue is (BEAUTIFUL park), had tea (i was made fun of by the waiter for about to be pouring tea in black current tea), traflager square (the pideons wouldnt let me pet them!), national portrait gallery (more interesting than i thought), and went to some fancy boring tea store for my mom. im actually thinking about (wont happen), teaching here for a year or 2 when i graduate. i hear they do subsitized housing for teachers which is great and the pay is probably about the same back at home. its great being here. thing is, traveling with my parents (not so much my dad), kinda sucks. while i get in a ton of great stuff with my mom and have company, she is a total control freak and has no opportunity to ever be willing for a compromise or to let people say things without attacking them or talking to us in a demeaning manner. i knew my mom was like this though before the trip. however, who would give up a free 28 day trip with their parents?
