Loitering on a bridge in London
We have spent the day wandering around London, exploring the sights and trying not to lose our way too much. A bit hard to do without a detailed map! However, even though Dean scoffed at my navigational skills, more than once, I still managed to get us to the places we wanted to go! We are having a bit of trouble uploading photos to the blog site so bear with us while we get it sorted. we will put some on Facebook.Anyway, a bit about what we did today. Took an early bus to Westminster, and after getting off the bus a stop or two before we should have, took the first of my walking detours around the general area, not sure where!!! Until we spotted the familiar landmark of Big Ben and knew we were headed in the right direction. The Abbey did not open until 11am on a Wednesday so we took a few photos and headed over the bridge, taking some more photos on the way of the Houses of Parliament etc. The Abbey is getting a bit of a spruce up. Must be a bit of a do on there soon! Then it was off for a

turn on the London eye. Great views on this clear morning and no wait to get on either. Over the bridge to Trafalger Square where I dragged Dean into the National Gallery for a quick tour around the Impressionist section. Dean managed to look suitably interested and I didn't make him stay to long. Then it was up Pall Mall to the Palace. Loads of people there and we just missed the trooping but we saw the hats and heard the pipes! I think we hear just about every language but English! Where have all the poms gone? Another walking detour through Eaton and Sloane squares then ensued, (and I Have to admit even I started to doubt my sense of direction, but only for a moment) and Harrods came into view. A squiz round there for a bit then a pub caught our eye so it was in for another pint and a toasted sandwich. See, we need to do all this walking to work off all the pub food! By this time it was mid afternoon so we walked back to the hotel through Hyde Park for a bit of a Kip. A kebab from the shop down the road for tea and that's us for the day. The bonus is a nice deep bath in the hotel room which Dean has just vacated so now it's my turn. Until tomorrow! Thanks for all your comments on the site. It's lovely to read them all. Love to you all.xx

Jealous Much
As the title suggest, jealous very much. Glad to see your havig a good time. Trust that the sense of direction will get better the longer you are there. In my opinion, a nice deep bath is always better shared. Stay safe Marie

Hey Mum. glad your having a good time! Stephanie wants to know how much your pint and sandwich cost?? she is doing research for when they go! How can Dean not trust your navigation skills! he may need to splash out on a GPS if he doesnt want to follow yours! you might have to crash the royal wedding, that would be a story!! been away again this week, very tired after 2 14+ hour days. looking forward to relaxing this weekend! Love you xoxo
