Our new flat mates
At the Pitcher & Piano at sunset Well me and Bel are both finally working! Yay! Hang on something about that last sentence doesnt sound right...excited about work? Yes well when your running low on cash, have just forked out 5 weeks worth of extreemly high rent, and living on 2 minute noodles the once torturous things like work suddenly dont seem so bad. Although in saying that I did only start on Wednesday at lunch time and by Friday i was counting down the minutes till home time! Some things just never change?
But yes so were both working now, Bel got a job as a Vet Nurse working in various clinics over London and me well your going to get a kick out of this, Im working for the Church of England! Queue laugher now... ill give you all a moment to contain yourself! But yes working for the Church of England, im going to burn in hell for that one! I got a call Tuesday evening from the recruitment agent telling me about the job, similar to what i was doing back home, looking after there accounts and expenses. Pay is pretty good but it was the location it self i was worried about but
i really wasnt at the point of being choosy. I did however have to ask him if it mattered that i wasnt religious, apparently not a problem in the office though, thank god...WHOOPS!
We have settled into the new flat really well, we moved in last Sunday had a welcome BBQ and got to meet everyone. Were now sharing with 3 other girls who are all really friendly. Caz is from Portugal, Sonja is from the UK and Kate who is also an Aussie like us. We went out on the weekend with them Friday afterwork drinks were a must so girls night out it was! Caz organised for us to go down to Richmond and go to the Pitcher and Piano bar that over looks the river AND has 2 for 1 cocktail pitchers (jugs for those playing at home) the weather has been really good to us this past week with lots of sun and about 26-28 degrees so friday evening over looking the river at sunset (which is also about 9.30) was just amazing! It kind of put me in mind of a fancy version of the Left Bank exept with a butt load of poms? Saturday
we caught up with Rick and Alana for the first time since we and they have been gone. Went into Leister Square for lunch and a pitcher of Pimms, our new fav drink! Had a wander round Oxford Street and checked out the shopping. Which is crazy mad with all the people on the weekend! Then later that evening we went Salsa dancing with Caz in town. The most amazing night!!! We went from having absolutly no idea what we were doing to burning it on the dance floor with a little help from those who did. The place was packed wall to wall of peopl and couples carving up the dance floor seem some amazing dancers Got a tone of great photos, cant wait to go back and do it again.
We havent really had much of a chace to see alot of London yet as the first week was spent doing interviews and looking for places to live so the next few weekends are going to be filled with lots of (cheap) touristy things for sure. We have managed to so see Big Ben and London Eye etc... yet to go up in it though cause that costs
money, money that we dont really have just yet... but well be cashed up again soon then well be ready to see the rest of London and Europe in September. Have to experience a propper night out clubbing which I have locked in with a mate of mine to go to the Minestry Club! Visit Camden Town, from what we have been told is a great place, very alternative and punky with lots of Markets and cool pubs so looking forward to hitting that! Also yet to go visit the Queen, thinking of giving her a call and going over for tea and crumpets next weekend if we can fit her in 😊 Also have to pick from one of the many festivals coming up to go to as well, there are so many going on every weekend here its making me so jealous cause I havent been able to go. There is Creamfields coming up and also the Reading & Leeds Festivals so need to see what i can afford to go to, fingers crossed for both!!! If anyone has any other suggestionson things to do and see in London for us please feel free to message and let
us know. Were open to all ideas. Oh and before i go... we have also managed to get a couple of photos of Hawaii, so there up on the Hawaii blog now. Check em out!
Well thats about all from us for tonight, Zoolander is about to start on Sky so I'm signing out!
Hope all is well back home, take care guys xox Mel & Bel
