It's been a rather tame few weeks for me and Bel over in the UK, between working and trying to save we haven't really been out to see much. We are now down to our last 3 weeks of work before we plan on heading off around Europe, so it's meant to be
SAVE SAVE SAVE as much as we possibly can so we can make the most of our final weeks over seas. Although that is proving to be a case of easier said than done...
We went into Camden Town a few weekends ago which is by far one of my fav places to go in London, people weren't lying when they said it is a very alternative place to shop. Has to be one of the Emo/Punk/Goth capitals of the world! The place was PACKED out. They had everything, goth/punk/emo clothing, piercing & tattoo places, bong shops, second hand vintage clothes which cost more than the new stuff, food stalls, candy shops, drinking and shesha bars, clubbing/rave wear which was one of the most bizarre shops I have ever seen. Most of the gear looking like something from space, with moon boots & head gear and bass
My new man...
Told you it was alternative! music pumping so loud I thought I was at a rave?! Could spend hours looking at everything there with so much crazy, random, cool, stuff you def need more than one day too look.
If you haven't already herd the good news, I managed to get my hands on tickets to the
Reading Festival!!! Very excited! After 3 stressful days of bidding on eBay and getting out bid in the last few seconds, I bit the bullet and bought some "buy it now" tickets. Being that the festival is going into it's 20th year now and with this line up it sold out months ago so tickets cost a bomb! But 3 days and over 150 kick ass bands including:
Taking Back Sunday, Killers, Avenged Sevenfold, Rage Against the Machine, Queens of the Stoneage, Pennywise, Slipknot, Bloc Party, The Raconteurs, Bullet for my Valentine, Pendulum, MXPX and well you get the idea, it will be more than worth the money and stress when I'm actually there! Doing the full 3 days with a group of 6 of us camping for the weekend which will be interesting now that the weather is turning to crap, but I have my wellies
and rain coat, even if it doesn't rain I'm gonna look totally bitchin cause its all about the wellies over here! For those who haven't herd about the festival check it out on www.readingfestival.com concert of the year by far! So that's what's coming up for me this weekend, can hardly contain my excitement! I will update the blog with photos and stories from the weekend as soon as I can!
Last weekend we had our first house party at our new place, a bit of a send off for one of the girls were living with as she was off over to China and really just any excuse to have a party? Being that it was the 08.08.2008 and the eve of the Olympics we made it Olympic themed. Got a tone of photos with everyone in there costumes and those without, and everyone got a gold medal to get into the spirit, me and Bel had the best ones though cause ours were chocolate! Good night all-round think we finished up about 4 or 5am? One of the perks of having a house party is that it's just a small stumble up the stairs to bed! The
rest of the weekend was spent recovering and sleeping, which was fitting cause the weather turned to crap so was good to stay inside.
Weekend just gone was one of the best so far. Friday Me and Bel went on a date to the movies to finally see Batman, besides the fact that the cinema was FREEZING cold, the movie itself was really good. Then Nic arrived in from Liverpool to join us for the School Disco weekend as well as Rick and Allana so we went into Camden Town for lunch and a look around to gather some last minute accessories for our school uniforms. That night was School Disco night at a Club down the road. They put on a dress up night every few weeks in summer where yep you guessed it, everyone dresses in school uniform! Great night, lots of pre drinks and class photos before we left our place then headed back to school! Great night, a sea of uniforms swarmed the dance floor, we had geeks, preps, cheerleaders, even guys dressed as girls was a good laugh!
We head off round Europe on more adventures on the 4th September. Stopping in Italy,
Shesha Bar
10 quid, get outta here! Greece/Greek Islands, Croatia, Amsterdam then finishing up in Germany for Oktoberfest before coming back to London then flying home to Perth on the 25/26th September just in time for Spring!
Well I think brings us up to date on the last few weeks events... peace out from London!
