Brilliant!
Hi all!

Today was amazing! Just as cool as yesterday, though, we also walked another 7ish miles today. My feet are killing me!! Clara is calling me a slave driver at this point, but you have to walk if you want to see anything...

Well today we did a lot! We got up early, took the rails to the trainstation, took trains all the way to Windsor Castle! The Castle was amazing! It is the worlds largest lived-in castle. The Queen still holds residence there (though, again, she was out 😞..) Anyway, it was really stunning. Check the pictures.

Once again, we found that once you enter any church or the 'inside' of any 'Royal Palace' you are NOT allowed to take any photos or video. James may have snuck 1 or 2 of Windsor, but I'm not sure. I'll load them later if so. But, it was amazing, and the state rooms are beautiful. Extremely stunning tapestries and artwork.

Next stop was Hampton Court Palace! After a long train ride, a long walk, and a longer walk, we made it! This place was very 'Tudor' in style, and color. It was smaller than the Castle,

of course, but still very large and very nice. We didn't really know we weren't supposed to take photos in the palace, and well, we kind of went in the back instead of the front, so apparently we missed all the signs. So, we walked into the first room and just started snapping away! The room was AMAZING, with beautiful painting lining the walls. So, we took about 5 photos each, then some video, then a couple more photos. Right as Clara took a picture of me in front of the wall/ceiling painting, a guard came running in and told us that there was no photography allowed!

He said that the hidden cameras in everyroom (flash sensitive) will pick up the flashes, and if there are more than 3 they send a guard right away! He was the guard sent! Haha, so anyway, he told us that unless you have permission from THE QUEEN, you cannot take any photos in a royal palce. He said it is illegal! Haha! So anyway, we got off with illegal photos of one of the rooms of King Henry the 8th (well, and King William the 3rd, those were the two kings who

lived there). See them enclosed!

Afterwards we caught the bus back to a underground, had some food (good and cheap for a change) and made our 2 hour journey back to campus. Now, here I am, at 11:19 writing to you all and preparing for bed!

Tomorrow is another early day! Off to Stonehenge and Bath. Leaving at 9 am. Should be a lot of fun!!

Cheers and Love,

Ryan

Surely there is a better way......
It seems you should be able to connect the tube, the rails and the buses so you don't have to walk so much! Maybe you guys should look into renting a car....or little Vespas! (Ciao, beep beep!) :) Glad you are having such a great time, love you and miss you but see you soon. mummy

Hampton
Hey, did y'all see the amazing clock inside the entrance of Hampton Court? Did y'all go through the hedge maze? You didn't mention it, so I'm doubting. You make me so homesick to go back...yes, I used the term "homesick".

Of course! We saw the amazing clock, and we toured the hedge maze, which, was somewhat pitiful considering the size of the maze he originally had there...but that's ok. We enjoyed it! I have pictures of the amazing clock, too.
