Drink up!
The 'healing' water at bath. Man it was gross!Yesterday (Sunday the 7th) was a long but fun and interesting day.
We departed campus at around 9:20 am, on big coaches set for stonehenge and the city of Bath. The original plan was to go to stonehenge first, then to Bath, but because of rain, we diverted to Bath first, then did stonehenge. Took 2 and a half hours by bus to get there, so that wasn't much fun.
Bath is a really interesting place. It was founded by the romans 2000 years ago, because of its hotsprings that welled up from it. They built a bath-house around the largest one, and the waters were said to have 'healing properties' when bathed in and with drank. Not to mention it is about 115 degrees out of the ground. Today, a 'museum' of sorts has ben built over the original roman bathhouse, with parts of the stone structure still standing inside the building. Also, many columes and other roman pieces have been found and are on display. It was really an amazing place, and you can see the pictures of me drinking the water (which tasted like rubbish! It was quite mineraly and bitter. A bit like warm salt

Afterwards, we got on the bus again for another 2 hour drive to stonehenge, in the salsburry planes. This was AMAZING! I cannot tell you the experience I had seeing this structure, as I have wanted to see it for many many years. Though, I will say two things:
1. I was very dissapointed you can no longer walk through the structure and up to the stones. It is now blocked off a bit so you can only walk around it.
2. The stones are much smaller than you'd think.

It was another 2 and a half hour bus ride back home, but we made it fine, and sleep was welcome. What a big big weekend! This week we have a few things planned. National Gallery either here in the next 10 mins, or tomorrow. Then the Tate Modern on Wednesday, then Thursday we are leaving for Ireland. I've already made the arrangemnets!!

well, sugar, first of all I must say I am diggin that faux-hawk. and the jaunty military-style jacket.... And there is nothing wrong with an all candy diet what with all that walking you're doing. I am supremely jealous (of the whole trip, obviously) but most especially of Dublin. (my all time #1 place I want to go!) I can just see myself wearing sparkly green shoes and doing a happy little step dance while swilling down a foamy draft of dark beer....haha. If you find a little peice of me over there, just leave it...it's happy being Irish! Really, though, it looks as if you are having a wonderful time and have seen some amazing things already....maybe your luggage will catch up with you soon! Love Ya!
