Jumped on our Easyjet flight from Roissy-CGD to London, Luton Airport. Ahhh Easyjet.....remind us to tell you the story about boarding when we get back. The Airline itself is great but as for the no frills staff at the airports that they employ....well that's another thing.
Grand Final fever is building over here !! Well in our little 6 x 4 that is. Glad to hear that many got seats.
Anyway we arrived ok into the UK & as planned were met by our driver. Makes travelling with kids soooo much easier, costs a little more but removes a lot of the stress & hassle. I was surprised by just how far out Luton was. I expected 30-40 min but it took around 60 min but hey it was 5.30pm driving into London.
We got to the accommodation & immediately offloaded the bags & hit Earls Court Road for some food. There are so many pubs, restaurants & places to eat it's not funny. After 2 weeks of living in places of serenity & tranquility it is a fair slap in the face to be living on a major road & entertainment action hot spot. The accommodation is reasonably good but

This is only about 1/100th of the stuff they have for pets!! Ains and I are going back to spend some more time there (of course!)
I'm sure that H will be keen to add her perspective on that - here she is!
Well I can only agree with that! I'd kill to be back in beautiful Villa Pandolfini, not a sound to be had at night apart from an occasional dog barking. But here! Total opposite - noise, constant traffic, people rushing everywhere, shops, restaurants, supermarkets, tube stations, pubs, pubs and more pubs.... But it's still exciting to be here in London and we both agree that it's changed alot since our last visits. Seems to be alot more European influences now, with many bakeries/patisseries and cafes where people sit and watch the world go by (although here, there may be a dozen people or so at a cafe - in Paris, times that by 5!) The Chelsea/Manchester United football match was on just down around the corner from us yesterday afternoon, so it was kind of exciting seeing the fans walking home after the match in their footy gear - about 10 last night we heard a very loud bunch of guys (drunk?!) walking along chanting football songs - almost surreal actual being here after seeing it on tv for so long! Yesterday afternoon
Fun in Hyde ParkFun in Hyde ParkFun in Hyde Park

While sitting in Hyde Park, we watched a huge group of girls/guys and kids dressed up as 'Peace Fairies', celebrating! Beautiful colors...
we 'dragged' the kids out for a walk to Harrods, Ains and I especially enjoyed the pet section (puppies for 1000 pounds!!) and we wandered the food sections and saw the Diana and Dodi memorial. We had lunch at 'Yo! Sushi', a huge sushi train restaurant (very yummy and fun!) then walked up to Hyde Park, making sure we passed Royal Albert Hall for Lochie (contains a huge organ which Matt Bellamy, Lochie's fave musician, played). Sat and watched some interesting and cute sights in Hyde Park - photos attached, then wandered around Kensington Palace enjoying all the little squirrels scurrying around! The gardens were beautiful. Back to the apartment for tea and planning for another day's onslaught - Tower of London, London Eye and Madame Tussaud's!! Love to everyone, and enjoy the Grand Final week for us x
