I was always more of a The Sweet kid. Blockbuster. The first single I ever bought. Yes - one of those round black pieces of vinyl, that hissed and crackled at 45 revs per minute. I obviously still have it to hand. The Other Half sighs. If only, it was the only one! The other teen band of the charts - Slade - originally a bunch of Wolverhampton skinheads, was perhaps too heavy for my taste in the day. It all came flooding back at Leicester Road. The other band in the equation - Slade - was booming out. It wasn't from the tannoy, but from 2 guys of my generation. An improvised version of Come On Feel The Noise in support of the team in Red & Blue. What Noddy Holder would make of it
