Off to Lake District Happening night scene tonight? Cold and overcast. I’ve been awake since 5:30 this morning. Yup, I think I’m starting to feel better and back to only needing about 6.5 hours sleep instead of wanting to sleep in. Mind you I’ll probably start getting tired mid-morning. LOL Or perhaps I’m looking forward to our fully cooked breakfast! LOL Mmm, now back on the bus and the hearty breakfast was simply delish! Scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, tomato, hash browns, baked beans, toast, juice, coffee and tea! Phew! Yummy and we got to sit down and eat in the lovely dining room as well. Mind you, there was a creepy stuffed owl looking at me the whole time. Linda’s daughter Ellen was helping to serve breakfast and today is the second to last day of ... read more

So goes without saying, even though I'll say it, that I won't be online all that much the next while. No worries though since my 30 cent notebook from Coles is coming in really handy and I've been writing out ... read more

To someone from Alberta, this tarn (small mountain lake) was completely unremarkable, but it seemed to be a point of interest to many people and is subject of a painting in Grasmere. From here we started an adventurous clamber along the side of the valley to the streams coming down from the higher hills. The first geology lesson was again useful to understand that each valley has a stream originating between two higher hills, which then drops precipitously to the valley floor ... read more
