Well were to begin. After our outing to Bath and Stone Henge, we had to prepare ourselves for Europe’s largest street festival. The Notting Hill Carnival was unreal! The initial Caribbean parade was wicked; thousands of brightly colored costumes dancing along the street and on various different floats. After watching and jumping in for a bit of dancing, we made our way to dance up on the DJ’s booth. Haha, yup somehow Lex got tickets to dance up on stage in front of at least a thousand people with one of the main DJ’s at the festive - nuts!

Once we had partied ourselves out, we decided to explore the Cornwall area (Southwest edge of England). It turns out the ‘carnival’ followed us to Newquay too. While enjoying a night out, Megs found herself lecturing Smurfs about how to properly wheel girls. We also witnessed a whole group of men, dressed as old women, all dancing and singing to Mr. Brightside by themselves. Weird, who knew groups of men danced on their own without women.

We decided to move on to the other coast, where we couch surfed in Falmouth. We were warmly greeted by our new friend Steve. He showed us around town and even took us out on a Zodiac to have a pint in a quaint oceanside town. Yay, he even let Megs and I drive. For the next few days we explored various beaches and an isolated island castle that could only be accessed while the tide was out.

We’re now back in Newquay - the surf capital of England. Meg’s and I have the next few days dedicated to surfing! Haha, and yes we were standing on the first day, even high fiving while on our boards at the end of the wave -- yes, we are nerds. What can I say, life is tough. Ohhhhh ya, while in London we had our first celebrity sighting. We’ll we didn’t really know who the guy was, but everyone around us did. Apparently he’s on a British show called Hollyoaks.

Surfs up,
-L
