Edinburgh
Edinburgh Castle This past week we spent bumming around Edinburgh in Scotland. It was a very last minute decision to head there from Newcastle (us? last minute travellers? no! ha) and, when we decided the night before to book a bus there, we soon realized that there was NO accomodation in the city. Yup, we accidently booked our trip for the middle of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
So, this drove us to our first actual encounter with Couchsurfing.com. Yup, we stayed with strangers on their couch (sorry dad!). It actually worked out perfect. The boys we stayed with were great and showed us around the city. They even had a spare room for Laura and I to share!
We went to a different show everyday. We saw comedy, plays and dancing. They were all spectacular but one....which presented itself as if it had been written by a drunk, performed by 8 year olds (they were really all in there 20's) in costumes they had found in dumpsters. The male dancers (breakdancing mixed with ballet) made up for it!
The entire town was full of street performers, artists and tourists. A very cool atmosphere!
Yesterday Laur and I took a

A comedian we went to see day trip to see Stonehenge and Bath. Somehow I thought Stonehenge would be...well bigger! still unreal though. Bath was a beautiful city which we both agree we will need to go back to! When we got home last night (we're now calling Lex's house in London home!) Lex decided to throw a big party to celebrate...well i dunno what we were celebrating exactly but we sure did celebrate! As people started arriving we began to realize they were all CANADIAN! haha. yup. house full of Canadians, just what you want when your abroad! I was a good time though.
Well that's all folks.... (play the looney tunes closing song in your head)
