World Cruise Finale Well, this is the last instalment. I have finally got around to finishing it. All I need to do now is filter the photographs and make our photo books. Thank you all for the feedback and messages on the blog site. I have read them all and am pleased you have enjoyed my writing. The last week. Have had the most wonderful time. Will be very sorry that it has to end but of course will be very pleased to see Christopher and Nicole and the boys. Sunday 9th April Sea Day R went to church. I lined Richard and Diane at the trivia quiz. Then we went up to Neptune pool area to find all the beds put away… there is an Easter Fete this afternoon, proceeds Teenage Cancer Trust, P & ... read more

It is Saturday 29th April. The football season for the Marske United Canine Crew and her driver is in theory over. However, I find myself up early and on the road again. The role aa a full time Entertainment Officer to a Norfolk Terrier never ends. Progress is slow. Painfully slow, in fact. We are heading east into Fenlands. In Fenlands, you don't rush. You can't rush actually - the roads simply don't allow it. We have had more than our fair share of driving across the flatlands all over the world. Arizona. New Mexico. Western Australia probably takes the biscuit. Ever tried Newman to Meekatharra? Peterborough's a mere 20 miles from March, but it feels like a lifetime. Patience is required. We pull into town and park up near the football club. We will come ... read more

Farewell Arcadia! Day 57 - Wednesday 8th April, 2020 Today we’ll be anchoring out at Tenerife. When we opened the curtains we were still sailing, but by breakfast time we were anchored. Looks like a nice day but only forecast about 20 degrees. We had to wait for the fuel shop to come out to refuel us. Not happening quite as quickly as captain had anticipated but soon it was alongside and refuelling started. This meant that the refuelling side was cordoned off for safety and there was no smoking on the decks. Turned out rather a good thing out on the back sun deck as the normal ‘smokers side’ was smoke free and pleasanter to walk through to get to the loo! Geoff Peters is talking about Maiden Voyages that didn’t get completed. There was ... read more

The concept of travelling is now becoming ever more imminent, my intentions have been broken to my parents and although I can tell that mother is slightly concerned I think she knows that there is very little that can be said that will change my mind, for my mind is set, for that there is no doubt. I have also narrowed my objectives down a bit, I plan in either May or June to leave for Asia, I will pay visit to an old school friend who now lives and works in Bangkok, Thailand. Initially I will use this as a base to explore the surrounding area. Then I plan to branch out into neighbouring countries such as Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, Malaysia and then onto China. I will be looking to spend about four months travelling ... read more

My Plan is to explore a place called Earth, I almost feel as if it is something I was born to do, a whole world of adventure awaits me, and I am at a stage in my life where it just seems inevitable that I should do so. I feel that there is so much I can learn from this experience and that there quite literally is no better time than now. This trip has been put off for to long and I need to act now before it is to late as many people around me are settling down now and getting married , having kids and getting a mortgage. I’m just not ready for all that palaver yet. So what do I hope to gain from this experience then? I hope to discover my ... read more
