From Italy just follow U'r nose west to UK, but it's not that easy, so much rare scenery to stop try to capture in photo. Trip to Scuol was bit of nostalgia for me, last here with my Kayaking buddies maybe 20 years ago, think was trip in high water, with Mikey & Stu, watched by locals in some disbelief, comment at time was "What would Mike W. Say?" But today water was very low, not sure just time of year, or more Hydroelectric extraction for 'White gold' ie or clean power.... read more

Well our days are winding down here in SE Switzerland. 3 more days and we head for the SW of Switzerland (The Valais). Today we did a return trip to Ardez. why? Because we could. We liked that small village where the farmers are working the hay before the autumn ends there endeavors.they work hard with a lot of hand work, like raking the hay down hill with there long rakes. (See pic of farmer and wife carrying there rakes) Small narrow cobblestone streets, painted buildings and one small grocery store. Tomorrow we will journey north to some big winter ski areas. Hello everybody, These last few days we have toured through two very quaint villages. Soglio and Ardez. Both in the Engadine Valley. This architectural form is not found any where else in Switzerland or in Europe for that matter. Most of these buildings sre from the late 1500's to the 1600's. My favorite maybe the Adam and Eve House in Ardez. All the villages are not as nice as these. You need to do some research to know where to go. When we went to visit the village Guarda. We exited the train only to find that the village was a 40 minute hike almost straight up. Thankfully a small postal van came to our rescue.
