Last day in Madrid. David and I went to the Reina Sofia and the Prado galleries and saw Picasso's Guernica along with a pile of other stuff. Jan had already been and didn't want to look at any more "bleeding Jesus" pictures. My only mistake today was accidentally ordering tripe for lunch.
All-in-all the trip has been a good one. We drove 3300 kms by car. Jan crisscrossed the country by high speed train and the geezers covered 600 kms by bike. We had great temperatures and only one day of rain. Between us we saw most of Spain's major cities, plus a lot of small, out of the way towns and there's still enough left for another trip.
Spain is a great country but we're all looking forward to getting home. From Madrid we each take our own route back to Burns Lake. I'll be home Thursday night; Jan and Rick will get back Friday and David on Monday.
Adios!
