A forest of chromosomes!

Off to Valencia to see the City of Science. Our hostel finally had a kitchen and you wouldn't believe how excited we were to cook pasta. Imagine, me excited about cooking!?! The markets in Valencia weren't as pretty as those in Barcelona, but they were much bigger and had more quality stuff. We bought some saffron because Spain is apparently the place to get the good stuff. Our pasta dinners and lunch sandwiches etc. were so tasty from the fresh ingredients and wonderful cheese.

Our second day was spent in the City of Science. Funky architecture (unfortunately stuffy due to the many windows, I guess air circulation was sacrificed in the looks). I had so much fun playing in the "forest of chromosomes" yes people, the geekiness follows through on vacation. It was a huge display dedicated to the human chromosomes, what they control, where they affect you, diseases that occur from certain mutations. And luckily, most of it was in English as well as Spanish. Then it was off to the fun aquarium. Here fishy fishy fishy...I guess we were hungry since the phrase "look dinner" came up a little too often. We finished the day with an IMAX film and a large drink of oxata (or horchata). Yummy nut milk, a new food discovery.
