To help me out, Laura took me to Valencia. We took a train and then, hopped around on the metro/trams. She wanted to show me how to get to Mestalla and my school. I'm glad that she did because the school is really far from the city center. I'd have come out of the train station and been completely lost.
When we got to Valencia, we left the train station and went underground because the one we needed was like a subway. (By the way, the bullring is RIGHT NEXT TO the train station. I don't know why that was :O! to me.) We had a small breakfast (I think?) so, by the time we got to Valencia, we were hungry. The subway had a little food stand so we got something there. I bought Valencia CF chips and an empanadilla con espinaca. OMG. The empanadilla was SO GOOD. I don't know what was in there other than spinach (it didn't seem to have cheese), but it was fabulous. I need to go back one day for more. Yum yum yum!
The train was a little full, if I remember correctly. We rode it to a stop and had
to go back above ground to catch the next train. We took that to the university stop, but it ended up being the part of the school for the Spanish students. The spanish school was in a building much farther down. We walked that way and it didn't kill me, but omg. We agreed that it would be torture to carry luggage that far. Once we reached the school, we saw that the tram has a stop right there. Yay public transportation.
After this, we hopped back onto the tram to change back to the previous line. We got off at a different stop and looked for Mestalla. (EEE!) It was exciting to see in person, though I didn't want to get all fangirl in public. And my goodness. It's HUGE. O_O; We walked all around it looking for the entrance, but it was all locked up. 😞 After this, we made our way back towards the train station, stopped for lunch, and left Valencia.
MUCH LATER that day, I finally opened up my Valencia CF chips. The empanadilla had filled me up before so I had just saved them all day. The chips I've had so far
haven't had as much flavoring as chips in America, but they were ok. These were just bland. :/ But I ate them, anyway. haha. Anyway, I'm chomping away and come across a piece of paper. I'm thinking, "AOSDHGAS! There's paper in my chips!!" No, no. It's a prize. Hurray!
I open it up and out comes a picture of David Silva, one of the players for Valencia CF. How exciting! It's a sticker, but I think I'll have to make a Valencia scrapbook and put this in there. Needless to say, I didn't finish eating the chips because I was too excited by the find. (Like a paleontologist finding a new type of dinosaur, haha) I took photos of all this and sent them to some Valencia fans I know online. *nerd*
Sometime this week, I need to make my way back to that place just for the chips and empanadilla. They made my day.
