Catalonia contains a great diversity and richness of landscapes, in few places in Europe we will find such a variety of environments. From the horizontality of the rice fields of the Ebro Delta to the lush forests of La Garrotxa, from the winding grain fields of the Segarra to the enigmatic large masses of forests of the Solsonès, from the plains of Empurdà to the high mountain of the Pyrenees ... All this crossed by pleasant roads that make it a pleasure to travel through them. As experts in motorcycle routes our business barcelona scooter rental we offer you here some several routes:
Coll de Nargó - Adrall- Sort - La Pobla de Segur - Tremp - Isona - Boixols - Coll de Nargó (160 km) With this route, of about 160 kilometers, we propose you to discover the most spectacular views of the Catalan Pyrenees.
We start from Coll de Nargó on the C-14 road, following the course of the Segre River and leaving behind the Oliana reservoir, in the direction of La Seu d'Urgell. We find a landscape marked by a wide valley, the central axis of which is marked by the river on
the sides of which rise mountains populated by numerous small towns with spectacular scenery and a rich cultural heritage.
Upon reaching the town of Adrall we will leave the valley to take the N-260 road towards Sort, the road is the great transversal axis of the Pyrenees and very winding, we emphasize that in this section we will pass through the port of Cantó (1725 m) , from which you can enjoy stunning views. Upon the arrival of Sort we will check that the orography of the surroundings has changed, here we can enjoy some of the most "harsh" landscapes of the Catalan Pyrenees, the geography is marked by a strait and long valley, the axis of which is the Noguera river Pallaresa, delimited by high mountains.
We continue along the N-260 road, in the direction of Tremp, following the course of the river and passing through numerous villages of great charm and a spectacular setting as the Collegats Gorge. Upon arrival in the municipality of La Pobla de Segur we can see how the valley widens, the way to a more plan environment that brings us peacefully in Tremp.
In Tremp we take the C-1412b road in the direction of Isona and come to this town we connect with the L-511 road, towards Bóixols. Here we leave the plain to go back to the mountains, suddenly the landscape becomes steep and wild, climbing the port of La Faidella (1250 m) to descend gently reaching Bóixols and climbing back to the port of Bóixols (1380 m) , then only a descent awaits us through the forests of Valldarques to end up closing the route when arriving at Coll de Nargó.
A route that shows us the great diversity of landscapes that we can find in the Catalan Pyrenees.
Coll de Nargó – Alinyà – Odèn – Lladurs – Solsona – Oliana – Coll de Nargó (113 km)
With this route of 113 km we propose you to visit the pre-Pyrenean region of Solsonès, one of the territories with the least population density in Catalonia, where the landscape is dominated by large expanses of forest and fields of cultivation.
We propose you to start from the town of Coll de Nargó, by the C-14 road towards La Seu d'Urgell, about 3 km cross the Segre River and take the L-401 road, popularly known as "La Pista". It is a narrow and very winding local road, not suitable for running but with spectacular views and a very mountainous environment full of ravines and rocky ridges. We will climb the mountain pass of the "Coll de Boix" (1461 m), passing through the village of Alinyà, to reach LLinars and following the villages of Cambrils, Odèn and entering the massif of Port del Comte towards Sant LLorenç from Morunys, we will pass the detour to the town of Canalda and after about 4 km we will turn off to take the LV-4241 road in the direction of Solsona.
The LV-4241 road is an old road very little traveled and is what is called a road movie, it is the scene of multiple filming of ads and photo shoots, with a very diverse paths and spectacular landscapes. Crossing large masses of forests we will pass through the town of Lladurs (joint of scattered farmhouses) to reach Solsona, capital of the region.
In Solsona we must take the C-26 road in the direction of Oliana. It is the great axis crosses Catalonia from West to East below the Pyrenees and this section borders the limits of the plateau, with an altitude that ranges between 800m - 1000 m, with the first mountains of the pre-Pyrenees crossing the basin of the Salada riverbank , with a landscape dominated by forests and cereal fields. At the end of the road we connect the C-14 road towards La Seu d'Urgell, skirting the Rialb and Oliana reservoirs to end the route when arriving at Coll de Nargó.
Olot – Santa Pau – Banyoles – Cornella del Terri –Sant Andreu del Terri – Torroella de Fluvià – Besalú - Olot (130 km) With this route of 130 km we propose you to visit the Girona regions of La Garrotxa, Pla de l'Estany and Alt Empordà, all three with a well differentiated identity.
We leave Olot in the direction of Santa Pau on the GI-524 road. Winding road through which we enter the Natural Park of the Volcanic Zone of La Garrotxa and during this first section we can enjoy the most characteristic landscapes of this area. Exuberant forests rise around us covering the profiles of the volcanoes and we cross the "Fajeda de Jordà", one of the most important beech forests in Spain. We continue in the direction of Mieres to leave behind the Garrotxa and reach Sant Miquel de Campmajor leaving behind the mountains to finish this stretch reaching Banyoles.
We are already in the Pla de l'Estany, a transitional land dominated by a flat orography dotted by gentle hills surrounded by cultivated areas with small forests and where Lake Banyoles marks the character of the territory. When leaving Banyoles take the C-66 road to go to the town of Cornellà de Terri and continue on the GI-514 towards Sant Andreu de Terri, past this town we connect with the N-II road towards Girona.
We will leave this road to continue with the GI-623 direction to Orriols and L'Escala entering the Alt Empordà plain, we pass the town of Ventalló crossing fields of apple, peach and cherry trees, take the C-31 road towards Torroella from Fluvià to later cross Vilacolum and link, for a brief space of time, again with the N-II towards Barcelona and take the detour from the C-26 road towards Olot.
Little by little we will leave behind the plain to close the circle and go back to Olot by the N-260 road, looking in the distance at the mountains and forests of the Garrotxa and crossing by attractive towns such as Besalú.
