Hey everyone!
It's Sunday morning and I arrived in Salamanca after a veeeeery long journey yesterday that involved waking up at 4:30
AM, not being able to find the bus stop at Madrid-Brajas Aeropuerto and getting lost for an hour trying to find our hostel from the bus station in Salamanca - a 10 minute walk away according to google maps - during which time the wheel on my overweight suitcase decided to stop working and it was like dragging a dead weight around. On the plus side it will go far to toning my arms up!
People were very friendly and a couple of times even offered us directions without even being asked. The bus ride from Madrid to Salamanca was fine, the bus seemed really posh with its leather seats and million little knick-knacks to put your phone, cup, food, keys, headphones etc into. There was a movie on aswell in Spanish but w/ English subtitles, which made the journey pass a lot quicker.
The hostel is nice, Hostal Misol, with a fairly big room and ensuite and the reception person seems friendly enough. Second floor and no lift with my lovely overweight suitcase though 😞
Although we were a bit reluctant to use the meagre spanish we know we managed to ask for directions about 5 times, check in at our hostel and order food. All in all a successful day I would say.
Next tasks - a spanish mobile perhaps and a place to live . . .

That's what you get for having an overweight suitcase!!! lol The meagre Spanish will soon turn to fluent...I just know you are going to have a great time there. Good luck in finding somewhere to live, let me know when you have. Love you lots xxx
