Again today it is nice and sunny here! I can't hit the beach until later, because I have a doctor's appointment. I somehow hurt my knee walking around so much. I thought it would get better, but Noooooo of course because I'm in Spain, something bad has to happen. I have my appointment at 3 and then I'll know where to go from there. Hopefully nothing is terribly wrong with it?! I'm competely over being homesick and love this city. It is nice to be able to walk to everything. Instead of driving to the supermarket, I walk 5 minutes to one. Also, today in class our teacher taught us all of the drinks that are popular here and how to order the, etc... That would never happen in the states... "So this drink is ... read more

I just finished class for today, I love tuesday/thursdays because I'm done at 11, but I do have plenty of homework to do tonite: Write a composition on something going on in the world today.... all I care about right now is that it gets sunny in San Sebastian... but I guess the war and global warming are important too?! Find a news article to present in my conversation class, but it's ok it can be about anything from fashion to sports. Do some workbook activities, but that's not too bad I like how it seems that I'm a complete ditz... I swear I'm doing work here is Spain, not just having fun! Here are some pictures my friends took, I'm still working on getting mine put onto a CD. It is cloudy and raining ... read more

Vale, another fun filled trip with Ms. Camille. We took to the streets of Madrid to start our adventure and watch some bulls get destroyed. The purpose of Madrid was the bullfight and meeting up with one of Camille’s friends Louis. After a quick lunch with Louis and dropping our stuff at the hostel, we hit the bullring. We originally had the intention of getting a little tipsy, but after that first seven euro drink we had enough (poor college students). I have never been to a bullfight before, nor have I watched one on the TV, so the initial hits were a little vicious to me. The first time the bull hit the horse, the horse hit the ground and stopped moving, I thought the horse was dead. About five seconds later it jumped ... read more

It was FINALLY nice and SUNNY today!! We slept until 10:30 and then went to the beach for several hours! I got a little sun, aka my freckles are showing up on my nose and I'm no longer pasty white, just white. We swam in the ocean, even thought it was a bit cold... to give you an idea, the only other people in the water were surfers who were wearing wet suits... but it was totally worth it. After 5 minutes you can´t feel your feet, because they are numb. But we floated around, jumped in the olas (waves), and checked out the hot surfers. We saw the naked guy again walking up and down the beach, expect this time we saw him up close and personal... I would rather not have. I also ... read more

¡Hola! Today we took an excursion with our group around the Basque Country. We went to Guernika, which is the ceremonial capital of the Basque Country. Back in the day, this is where all the leaders of the towns would meet and decide on the laws. Outside this building is an oak tree, which symbolizes peace and some other stuff I forget at the moment... They have the original tree enclosed in a monument because it has died. The grandchild tree still stands though, they take acorns from the original tree, so they will always have an ancestor standing. Then we went down the coast to a town called Zumaia. We had an amazing traditional lunch of salad, paella, and some amazing cake for dessert. After, we met with a geologist, who wasn´t too bad ... read more

On my trip, we have encountered many strange things and I have learned many things that I will remember for the rest of my life, such as: It is not socially acceptable in Europe to go to a restaraunt and order only desserts and alcohol... they took away our silverware, napkins, and bread... so we finished our Sangria too fast... If a bathroom door does not close easily, you should not force it close, because then you will get stuck in the bathroom... yesss it happened to me. I was at my friend´s apartment, where she was staying with a family. I got stuck in the bathroom, so she asked the grandma for help, she got me out really quick, but then she wanted to show us why it got stuck, so she sent me back ... read more

It was finally nice enough today to go to the beach, not in bathing suits, but we walked on the beach with our feet in the water. To celebrate, my friend brought stuff for mimosas, so we had mimosas on the beach (it is ok to drink in public here). I picked up some shells, but they are all small. WE SAW NAKED OLD MEN AND WOMEN!! ewwww, let me tell you, when you think of nude beaches, you are like, cool, hot people not wearing clothes....NO. There were many women in the normal part of the beach not wearing tops and laying there tanning, but they had old boobs, not a pretty sight! There is one section of the beach that is only for people who are completely nude. We saw an old man walking ... read more
