It has been raining all week, and it is very windy. Even though I don’t like rain to begin with, it is a really bad time to be raining all the time since it is Feria week in Sevilla. Feria de Abril is a big celebration, or as we like to say a big party that is an excuse not to work! For the past 4 months, people have been preparing for Feria, whether that meant putting up the entrance gate or their casetas, or tents. Many people have private tents, but there are some public tents. In the tents, people eat, talk, and dance. Dancing is big during Feria, especially the Flamenco or Sevillana. A lot of women wear traditional flamenco dresses, and men wear suits or Flamenco suits. There is also a big carnival section.

Julie and I decided to go check out Feria tonight since it finally stopped raining for a little bit. It is crazy there! There are so many people, tents, and dresses! I felt left out not wearing a flamenco dress, but unfortunately they cost hundreds of dollars- a little out of my price range for a one use dress! We walked around to see what Feria was all about and tried our first churros. They were very good, but they needed some sugar or sauce to make them better. However, for the price we paid, we got plenty! It started to rain again, so we headed home before we would get too wet!
