Casa
Outside of our house, senoras room is in the green shades! From the first week in January while I was here…
Somethings you wouldn’t normally see/do around Wisconsin:
1. Showers that are only 5 inches off the ground to step into… and only 2 feet by 2 feet around
2. In the markets you will find entire skinned body parts of cows (including the head) to show good quality
3. Hanging chickens and yes rabbits as well waiting to be bought
4. 20 band aides for $7.35
5. The face wash at home I use that is $7 for $11.35 here
6. Streets that are about as wide as I am tall... and many “sidewalks” that don’t exist, the cars go past very close to the people walking down the narrow mostly one way streets.
7. The whole town (except some cafes for lunch) closes from 2-5 in the afternoon
8. We only slept in our sheets/blankets for 6 nights and they were changed (I don’t know if this is normal)
9. Not much is refrigerated including milk and bag lunches with ham sandwiches that she makes for us the night or morning before we take them for lunch also the pizza we had leftover was not refrigerated, it sat

Our room is above with the big balcony too! on the kitchen table and was reheated the next day.
One thing my roommate and I have noticed about our Senora Rosa is that we think she might be pretty well off. She is a widow with 4 sons (we’ve met two already) and 6 grandchildren (met 3) and has a large house to herself. Also yesterday she had her cleaning lady come in. She is very very nice but very angry if you are not on time for a meal. We eat breakfast at 730 before we leave for school at 750, lunch at 300/330, and dinner at 830/900.
New foods:
Calamari that looked like onion rings
Soup that was made with milk and cheese in a cream texture
A piece of fruit after EVERY meal morning afternoon and night!
Everyday for breakfast we have three pieces of crust-less bread with jam coffee with milk, or hot chocolate, and a piece of fruit.
When we have bacon it looks kind of like an equivalent to raw bacon in the U.S. and so does the ham.
The cathedral and alcazar are beautiful and full of SO MUCH history! The tower that is part of the cathedral is
Patio
Viewfrom the top of our casa church at the end of the block. 36 walking ramps to get to the top but very worth it to over look the city! Outside of the cathedral there are always 5-15 horse carriages which take people through parts of Sevilla, I want to do that sometime!
