Let's start the day by saying it is yet again hot with little sign of any cooling breeze today. We are heading out towards the coast with Carmona as our destination. Carmona is built on a ridge overlooking the central plain of Andalusia to the north of Sierra Morena. The city is known for its thriving trade in wine, olive oil, grain and cattle. . OUr journey took us past half completed buildings some houses some factories. It took us past empty greenhouses with the plastic flapping. It got us thinking about seasonal food. Have you ever picked up tomatoes on the shop shelves and looked at where they come from. Poland, the Netherlands and Spain. We actually started out the day by first going into La Carlota. The troops wanted to do some shopping. This by the way is a foreign concept to Beth and me. Other than buying some souvenir gifts for the grandkids, we just don’t shop. That is an activity that is not on our priority list of things to do. Anyhooooo….Beth and I went for a good breakfast at the coffee shop that we had discovered on a previous stop. I read the newspaper, enjoyed some eggs, taters, and ham with a good cup of coffee. By the way, the Spanish are potato eating fools. I thought the Irish could scarf down the potatoes, but the Spanish could sure give them a run for their money in this department. We have just visited Carmona. It was the last stop on our holiday and it wasn't quite the relaxed last day we had planned! We left lovely Cordoba just before mid day and drove to Carmona which is a little over an hour away. We thought we would spend a night here as it is a lot closer to Seville airport, where we had a flight home from. We made it to the outskirts of town without any issues. The problems started when we tried to get to our hotel. We had chosen the hotel based on the fact it was easy to get to (how wrong were we!) It was on a road just off the main road through town.
