Day 35 : Thursday 10 October 2019 : Lake Bled to Ljubljana

The transfer bus picked us up near our accommodation. We’re off to Ljubljana. It was a full mini bus, but was well worth the price. 40 minutes. We arrive and it was really raining, it’s the first time we’ve seriously been caught in the rain. Luggage and all, plus we can’t find the accommodation!! We ended up taking shelter and Graham went looking for the Airbnb. It feels like our accommodation is in the middle of nowhere.

Found the place, we dump our bags with the cleaner, get some dry clothes and head back out until the Airbnb’s ready. Wow, rain’s stopped, suns out, and the little free electric town car is right outside our lovely apartment. We jumped in and headed to ‘town’ or the markets as he clarified. So cool.

Turns out we’re staying in an awesome location, we just walked the long way around via the non scenic route. We head off to explore Ljubljana Castle (€24), so well preserved, its lovely, but you don’t really get the old castle feel. We took the Funicular back down. Quick but cool.

We set out and explore the rest of the town and great news, there’s bookshops everywhere. A nice big one advertising English books. Yay, Jodie’s on a winner. Book, then a stop at Maccas for lunch and a wander around town. Pretty place.

Great apartment also has a washing machine and dryer. Yep washed and dried everything.

Brief stop at home and then head back to the markets for dinner.

AIRBNB Apartment No. Old town @ $136AUD / night. Great apartment, 2 bdrms, kitchen, lounge/dining awesome location.
