Canyoning in Slovenia

10th
Today was such a good day. Met up with a couple of people from last tour an 2 saffas an 2 Sydney girls. Such a perfect day too. We have a bus (big plus) an aussie (real aussie) driver. We stopped off at a place called Province?? looked like an island but just joined to the mainland so had a walk up to the chapel. Lots of nice houses up here compared to inland. We stopped off for a swim an some little rock jumping. A little bit warmer than out in the ocean. After that Patlentica Range came out ofthe distance, awsome mountains. We stayed at a place called Stari Grad, little town between the mountains an the sea in agreat little apartment with 3 of us. That night we had a cruise on the water to watch the sun go down.

11th
Just started back on the road an i just cant get over the scenery. On our side we are hairpinning round the mountains along the water. On the other side (islands) its like im looking at an alien landscape, just yellow rock mountains falling into the sea, no trees, very star warsish. Went over some massively high winding bridges an arrived in Ljubjiana. Took the funicular up to the castle, the centre of the city. Very modern inside for a castle, caught a corny 3d history of the city on movie. Lots of bridges an squares in this town, an a very young feel, probably because it is a university town. Got some quirky pictures with statues an owls then back on the bus to Bled. Feally clear jagged peaks as we were coming in, an such a lush forest compared to Croatia. Where we stay you have to walk a little bit around Lake Bled, a big crator lake with a church right in the middle overlooked by a castle on a cliff, kind of fairytale setting really. Settled for a cheap kebab that night.

12th
For 1 day in Bled the weather really didnt turn it on. Me an Danni decided to go into the middle anyway on the boat, even though pouring rain an low clouds were blocking the mountains an making it quite eerie suroundings. We had to wait about an hour till the boat filled up then off. I remember this island off a getaway episode. Walked up the stairs an rand the bell, making a wish of course! Headed back to get changed because i had decided to go canyoning. Im so glad i decided to go. There were 4 girls an our guide was canyoning Bob, Just to get our adreniline pumping, or probably just a crazy driver who likes passing on blind corners. Got all suited up, like wetsuits, socks, pants, jacket, harness an helmet. Felt like i could have been fit for walking on the moon. Had a 15min hike up hill in all this stuff. It started off wih the most scariest part, 2 jumps into rockpools. I slid down on my ass the first time, an then we walked around an did it again jumping, water about 10°. The whole thing took about 2hrs, in that time i jumped into varying heights of rockpools, absailed down 3 parts, flying foxed an an slid down lots of cool rock slides into pools. Dont have any photos obviously so just memories but they have a good website which pretty much shows what i did (they were 3glav adventures) Back for a well earned shower an then we met up with some UK travellers for pasta an pizza by the lake.
