Hey, I've seen this palace before...
I took the morning flight to St. Petersburg. Wait, what's that?

HOLY HISTORY LESSON, BATMAN!

St. Petersburg was founded by Peter the Great, who was apparently arrogant enough to name a city after themselves. It was supposed to be Russia's "window to the west". It's also known as the "City of 300 Bridges" due to the high ratio of dentists in the city.

I got a meal in the afternoon that served as a sort of blend of lunch and dinner - a Frankensteinian blend of 'rassolnik' (Russian for pickle water, a soup which tastes as good as it sounds) and a mug of 'kvass', called 'Children's Beer' due to its extremely low alcohol content - about the same as your average wine vinegar, and just about as sour.
