Here are the pictures that I took on my visit to Auschwitz. While there, it was a struggle to try and judge what is and what isn't photo appropriate. There are places where pictures are forbidden and any decent human being would respect that wish. The ruins of gas chamber and crematorium 2. The Nazis tried and destroy all of their evidence as they fled the camp.



This would have been the changing room, where the prisoners stripped down before entering the gas chamber. In this changing room, a woman prisoner was able to steal a guard's weapon and kill one guard and injure another. The Nazis then shut the lights off and just fired into the room, killing all in the room.








The barracks that some prisoners stayed in. These barracks were the first ones and were made of brick. Most barracks would be made of wood.

These barracks I estimated to be about 1800 square feet and housed 700 prisoners at times.

The inside of a washroom barrack. In Auschwitz II, washrooms were in a seperate barrack and could only be accessed two times per day.
