Sometimes when I read God’s word I just get sucked in and it is as if it comes alive for me. So I want to share with you those verses that came alive for me today.

“For we do not preach ourselves, but Jesus Christ our Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake. For God who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,’ made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ. But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. 2 Cor 4:5-7

“It is written, ‘I believed; therefore I have spoken.’ With that same spirit of faith we also believed and therefore speak, because we know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will also raise us with Jesus and present us with you in his presence…Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” 2 Cor. 4:13-18

Today we had our team meeting but only three of us were still at the house for the weekend. It was Beat (a 1st year from Switzerland), Kaspers B (a 2nd year from Latvia), and myself. Kaspers decided he wanted to preach to Beat and myself. He talked about how the Bible is filled with references to seeds and plants and how God used these analogies to explain things that would make sense to both the people of Biblical times and to us. The Word is God and the Word become flesh which was Jesus (John 1:1-3) and the Word is the Holy Spirit. The words we speak (or hear) are seeds planted in us. These seeds can be from the Spirit of God or the spirit of this earth (from the devil). Those seeds that are planted bear fruit and it is by those fruit that we can tell if someone is of God or not. Also how we will be judged by our words because those words become seeds in others. I am not explaining this quite as well as he did but it was actually pretty interesting and something I want to study more. He was also talking about our body, soul, and spirit and how they are work. That which every we feed more, our body (or flesh) or our spirit that is the one which will reign over us and control our soul.
