Gouda to Kaag Island
Left suddenly when we realised the bridge was opening at 10am and we should get that one rather than wait for the 12pm one. Debby pushed us off and we’re glad for her suggestion as it took much longer today than expected due to all the waiting for the bridges to open. Stunning scenery though, just cruising through the canals, the bridges are so huge and we look so small going through them – not that we realised until we saw the photos Debby took as she followed us along a short while! Luuk came with us and Oma and Opa were there at Kaag Island to greet us. Just a short visit with them and then they hopped back on their bikes for the 30km ride home. Debby and Luuk stayed the night again as John is on a bike riding weekend and Nick is away camping.

th Went to Keukenhof this morning. Debby dropped us there and we spent a few hours walking around. So many stunning flowers of all different varieties…but of course the tulips feature. I took so many pics of flowers I wonder why and
what on earth I’m going to do with them.
After that Debby’s mum and Luuk picked us up and took us to the beach for lunch and a walk along. However it was very cold and windy, good for a quick run for Luuk with the soccer ball and then back to Oma’s house for a tea!! That night we went to Peter and Alyce’s for a party. We were going to get dropped back to the boat, but hey…who really thought that would happen. Stayed the night there instead
