We stayed in the historic area of Amsterdam in a hotel on the canal. We walked to the Van Gogh Museum and the Rijk Museum. Did all the touristy things like canal boats, no didn't visit the "coffee shops" but watching stoned backpackers trying to ride bikes was funny. There must me a million bikes in Amsterdam! The trams are easy to get aound on, we both have no talent for reading maps or directions but are getting better. It is freezing cold but we are having a good time.
