To me the word "Delft" immediately brings to mind images of the famous blue and white earthenware. Royal Delft was our tour's destination. Arriving in Delft, we stopped at an industrial building named De Porceleyne Fles (The Porcelain Jar). It is the home and manufactory of Royal Delft. The building also contains the Royal Delft Museum. Paleis Noordeinde - Noordeinde Palace. It has been a palace of the Royal House since 1609 when the state presented it to William of Orange’s widow as a gift. The place is the working office of the Dutch monarchy. Noordeinde 64. "...the Hoogstraat leads to the N. for a few yards to the Noordeinde. Peace Palace (Vredespaleis). Opened in 1913 to provide a home for the Permanent Court of Arbitration, created by treaty at the 1899 Hague Peace Conference. Andrew Carnegie provided the funds for its construction. French architect Louis M. Cordonnier designed the building in in the Neo-Renaissance style.Today it houses the International Court of Justice, the Permanent Court of Arbitration, the Hague Academy of International Law, and the Peace Palace Library.
