To me the word "Delft" immediately brings to mind images of the famous blue and white earthenware. Royal Delft was our tour's destination. Oude Kerk

The statue of Johan de Witt (1625-1672) was made in 1916. It is located at De Plaats in The Hague. DSC_0045p1

Kloosterkerk

Kloosterkerk - Cloister Church in The Hague. Built ca. 1540 with the expansion of an early 15th century church associated with a Dominican monastery. The church has been Protestant since 1617. Rebuilt in 1952-1957. Lange Voorhout 4. DSC_0046p1

Noordeinde Palace

Paleis Noordeinde - Noordeinde Palace. It has been a palace of the Royal House since 1609 when the state presented it to William of Orange’s widow as a gift. The place is the working office of the Dutch monarchy. Noordeinde 64. "...the Hoogstraat leads to the N. for a few yards to the Noordeinde. Here, to the left, rises the Palace of the Queen, built by Pieter Post for Prince Frederick Henry and enlarged in 1816".--Baedeker 1910. DSC_0049

William of Orange

Equestrian statue of Wiliam the Silent (William I, Prince of Orange, 1533-1584). Installed in 1845. "In front of the palace stands the equestrian Statue of William the Silent (p. xxxix), in bronze, designed by Count Nieuwerkerke (1845). Peace Palace

Peace Palace (Vredespaleis). Opened in 1913 to provide a home for the Permanent Court of Arbitration, created by treaty at the 1899 Hague Peace Conference. Andrew Carnegie provided the funds for its construction. French architect Louis M. Cordonnier designed the building in in the Neo-Renaissance style.Today it houses the International Court of Justice, the Permanent Court of Arbitration, the Hague Academy of International Law, and the Peace Palace Library.
