Vatican
Before our tour Soo after waking up late for out train ride to Rome from Venice, we packed and ran to the train station just like in Home Alone to make our train ride in time. Two hours into the train ride, the conductor passes through our cabin asking four our Eurorail Passes and Ticket. As we all could have predicted...Kendall had a problem. She searches and searches and searches her things, and realizes that she LEFT HER EURORAIL PASS IN VENICE! What an intelligent move. All of a sudden Kendall had all of these people trying to help her brainstorm solutions to the problem, but none of them worked. After reading in the user guide book that "A replacement pass will not be issued if lost or stolen." She was screwed. We decided that she was going to have to buy a brand-new Eurorail pass, and lets be honest, her bank account was happy about that. This was just the beginning of Kendall's issues in Rome.
After waiting in the completely incorrect line at the train station in Rome to buy the new Eurorail pass, we get in the line from hell. It was so hot that we were sweating just standing
Club Alessdandro
Spent way to many tokens at this place and lost way too many drinking games there for about two hours. Emily was just thrilled. Thankfully we met this awesome couple from Orgeon who was able to give us some tips considering we didnt have a place to stay in Rome. They escorted us to the nearby McDonalds for lunch followed by door to door service to The Alessandro Palace (wouldnt necessarily call it a palace) where we were able to book 2 nights in the hostel...our first night with 4 other girls and our second night with our own private room.
After getting "settled" in to our room, we went to the ATM for Kendall to get cash out to pay for her part of the Hostel. After going to 3 ATMs her card still wasnt working...we decided to give up and get a drink. After a long night of drinking games with our new Australian and Canadian friends, we decided to venture out in Rome finding new bars whereby Emily ran into a friend from UofA. The night ended with plans to see the Vatican in the morning with our new friends.
The Vatican was ABSOLUTELY beautiful the only downside was the hangover, the heat, and awful tour guide who would say
So artistic
kendall can thank the Irvine Unified School District for the great art education! "Where am I?" when trying to get the group to move along, scream "Take a leak on the left" referring to the restrooms being on the left, and telling us to meet "at the wooden doors after the Sistine Chapel" where there were SEVERAL wooden doors in the chapel. Leaving us and our new friend Levi-who coincidentally played BBall at Concordia and lives in Newps-lost in the Vatican alone. We decided to get a drink and cruise Rome. Mom&Dad...we dont have a drinking problem, it just seems like every time there is a problem, getting a drink is a good solution.
The three of us took on the streets of Rome, running into cute coffee shops, fun bars, live music, art galleries and palm readers. We ran into a street artist when asking how to get to the Trevi Fountain, and the man offered to let Kendall give it a go...he had a few touch ups to make after she did her work. Once we arrived at the Trevi Fountain...Emily was in heaving, thinking she was Lizzy McGuire and made a wish into the fountain. We literally walked for about eight hours. Our feet were killing us but we
St. Angelo's Castle
one big ass door hahaha had to rally when we got back to go out to a Roman Disco.
The bus ride home from the "Disco" (European word for club haha) was unforgettable. There was a National Anthem battle between a group of Brazilians and Spaniards, people were standing on seats, jumping around, and talking trash about each other's football teams. It was amazing. After Dancing till 5am and getting home at 6:30am, our feet were throbbing and we were regretting having to wake up at 8:30am to reserve a room for the third night.
We are currently writing our blog from our friend's apartment in Barcelona and will continue to talk about Rome at a later point in time, but here's a taste of what half of our trip was like. 😊

my photo comments about your photo comments...
1.) "Gold ball. so thrilling." - I sense some sarcasm in that comment...? 2.) Trevi fountain- Let's be real, I know why Emily loves it so much... isn't it a bunch of naked men statues? ;) hehehe
