A large general in Pisa
up at 630 picked up car and drove the wrong way for about 15 mins until we realised we were heading to Rome by the signs we had put piza into our GPS instead of Pisa and it came up with a name that sounded like an Italian version of piza so we were going there so we pulled over on the Autostrad in the emergency lane and changed the GPS trouble is it just said do a U turn where possible so we went off at the next exit and did a U turn in front of the Autostad pay booths and headed back towards Florence looking in our mirror for police, silly to worry no one cares about road rules here, it seams you go 20 to 30 km over whatever the sign says and if the sign says less than 110 you just ignore it.

we travelled mostly between 130 and 140 and cars were wizzing past us Don't stay in the left lane too long or somone will be right against your rear bumper at 140kph, Scary stuff

any way we made it safely to Pisa and parked a little away from the tower, got

A small Esther in Pisa
a coffee in a cafe and a cake and then walked to the leaning tower of Pisa on the way we passed many statues of important men and couldn't help noticing that they are better fed than the ones in Rome.

we walked past the river and heaps of shops and Esther only bought 1 dress, then we saw it its so amazing, looks like it will fall over so Esther pushed it up a bit.

we decided not to climb it because we had better things to do like getting back to our car before the parking tickett expired (cant believe we were ther for 2 hrs!

our trusty GPS then got us to Monterosso al mare one of the towns in Cinque Terre (very narrow windy streets) but we got a park near the beach and the ticket dispenser didnt work so we parked for free we hoped (there was a sign showing a car being towed away)

we walked along the shore and had some lunch at a place right on the beach and then walked through a tunnel to another tiny town the other side of the hill we were thinking of

the river Arno in Pisa
catching a train to another town Vernazza but we needed to get to Turin by 630 for our BNB so we had a gelati to share (esther had a lick) and followed our GPS to Turin without a hitch

this place is cool a 3 storie apartment with living at ground level and bedroom underground in a basement up on a hill over turin in an old area with streets almost too small to drive down lucky I got a small car and you can turn the mirrors in. time to look for a place for dinner.
