River Po had a really good nights sleep in Turin BNB after a great dinner of pasta in a local hotel cheapest meal yet 23 euros for wine and pasta and bread and fizzy water finished with a panacotta and a tiramasu and a 15 min walk back to our room, no wonder we slept well.
we drove down the narrow windy road to the Po river which has parks down it's banks and many people running or walking it is the most beutifull river we have seen in Italy but we dont't have timeto sit and admire it so we filled up with deisel for the first time 53 euros and headed for Lake Como 2 hrs away, at one stage the road ran alongside the railway line and it was amazing to see the trains wizz past at 300 kph while we dordled along at 140 kph
at Como we stopped for an early lunch at mcdonalds and tried to find a bank open to change the last of our money until someone told us it was Saturday and the banks arn't open.
we then started our drive around Lake Como this is a beautiful region with a

River Po Turin series of small towns not unlike the coastal towns around the country with steep hills running down to the lake towns are built in every bay wherever there is a bit of relatively flat ground and the houses extend up the hill. we stopped at lots of places along the way had a coffee at tremezzo and sat in a park and watched the sail boats at Menagio and ended up at our motel at Bellano we thought it was near the water overlooking the lake but never expected it to be right on the lake literally our balcony overhangs the water the motel name is hotel meridianna highly recommend.
we are about to have dinner in the hotel restaurant also overlooking the water and we have reserved a table by the window.
