As our family, way back when, moved from Palermo Sicily, to New Orleans Louisiana USA, my brother requested that Sicily be a part of his Italian vacation. We passed two days in Palermo, and walked a good bit of the central and port areas. We woke up early to make it to the Cappuchin Catacombes. It was basically a crypt with preserved bodies and skeletons everywhere. Most of them were skeletons, but there was the occasional body that still had hair, or skin, or there was the baby who is over 80 years old, who is still perfectly preserved. check it out! . It was interesting, to say the least. On the way, we went to the many sites, some churches, the cathedral, and such. We went to the Market La Vucciria, where we walked around a bit, saw the fresh seafood, and sampled some Sicilian wines (which were very good!) We took a lunch break and had some amazing seafood pasta. After a nap, we walked towards the port and seawall, and ended up trying a new drink called Chino, made my San Pellegrino. We then had some pre-dinner beers and arancini, typical of Sicily, which is just pretty much a fried rice

you know you're in Italy when... a church is the main thing to go see
ball, but with some prosciutto mixed in look! . We made our way to a restaurant, and David dined on Pasta Amatriciana, a pasta with sauce made with tomatoes, pecorino, onions, pancetta, and I ate Involtini Siciliani, which is a very thin piece of veal rolled up with a filling of bread crumbs, cheese, pine nuts, and onions (DELISH!!). We rounded out the meal with a must... a cannoli!! After this, we walked around some more, and called it a night.
The next morning, we woke up, and did our souvenir shopping, and grabbed some lunch at Casa del Brodo (or Broth House...). We dined on tortellini in broth (which was crazy-good) and then we split another Involtini Siciliani (because they are, afterall, very yummy!). We walked around some more, had an aperitivo of wine at a bar close to the cathedral, and then we made it back to the airport, to fly back to Rome. It was a just enough time to get a lil' taste of where our family came from...

When we finally made it to Rome, we dined on some not-so-great pizza and made our way to the Trevi Fountain... and got a nice night view!
