My friends and I felt like we needed to get away from Florence. We needed some fresh air, a new Italian city, and different scenery. We decided to go to Torino, where the winter Olympics were in 2006. Torino is a great place to go to really live like an Italian and take in what Italian cities are like. We bought a 2 day pass to get into all the museums for free and ride transportation for free. So we went exploring around Torino. We went to the Egyptian Museum, the National Cinema Museum, and a Mountain (Alps) Museum. We took a walking tour of part of the city, hiking up a lot of hills, and found an amazing views of the city!! It was very foggy the whole weekend, but that is okay because we still had fun and saw a lot of the city. The second day we were in Torino we took a day trip to Susa, which is a city about 1 hour and 30 minutes away. The train ride scenery was beautiful. We were riding between the foothills and mountains. I am very glad that we saw Susa, it was a very different town, and they

Inside Museo Egizio actually thought we were french, that is how close we were to the borders of France. We went hiking up the foot hills around windy rocky trails. We were able to see a lot of cool sites, and the view of the entire city. The only thing that I found very interesting was that in Torino and Susa we could not find very many restaurants to eat at. There were a few but they did not seem very good. We walked around for it seemed hours before we actually found a place that look good, or that was even a restaurant. That was the only frustrating part of the cities. I would recommend that anyone visiting Florence day a day or weekend trip to Torino, it is worth the train ride.
