The hill, trying to find the apartment Day 18 : Monday 23 September 2019 : Vernazza to Santa Margharita Goodbye beautiful Cinque Terre, we’re off to Santa Margherita (€25 regional train). It was a very quick train trip just moving an hour along the coast.
It’s beautiful, but it was quite a walk (uphill) and we couldn’t find the Airbnb. Found the street. Ella tried to use her limited Italian to communicate with a kind old Italian man that couldn’t speak English who went up and down the hill on his scooter looking for the number. You get to the ‘top’ of the street and around the corner, it gets steeper. I can’t explain the steepness, your knuckles hit the road as you walk up, and oh boy, don’t let that luggage go as it’s a long way back down. Up, down, up, down, had to give up and just ring the contact.
Eventually we find the lady wandering around looking for us. Beautiful little unit with great views. We walked back into town to find a supermarket and buy dinner. Wandered around the marina and had lunch (€24). Scored pork T bones at €1.80ea and bottles of wine and snacks at the Supermarket and
