The Pantheon from our Room

This morning we had to sadly check out of the beautiful Bellevue Syrene for our transfer back to Rome.
As with our arrival, our transfer was booked with Rainbow Limos and it was another excellent trip. This time our driver was Giulia, the matriarch of the family and a lovely lady. She whisked us to Napoli station in good time, after taking us on a bit of a driving tour of Naples. I have to admit to being a little shocked at the condition that a lot of Naples was in. Giulia was adamant that no-one should stay in Naples itself, that it was simply too dangerous! I must admit that the little we saw made me very glad we decided not to come yesterday.
Even the station felt creepy compared to the many other stations we have been in in Europe, but all was well and we were soon on the train and on our way back to Rome.
It is quite a quick journey, only around 90 minutes from memory. We got off of the train and dragged our luggage out to the taxi rank. Wow, what a queue! I think we were in the queue for as long as

Eventually it was our turn for a cab and in no time we were back at Albergo del Senato. They remembered us so check in was super quick, and we had an even better room in my opinion. Again on the top floor but even closer to the Pantheon than last time, if that was possible.
We quickly unpacked what we would need for our final two days in Italy, before heading back across the Piazza della Rotunda to Di Rienzo for another meal there. This time we ate Cacio e Pepe which was a dish we had come to love. The waiter was great and explained in great detail how we should make this dish at home.
After lunch we decided to do a spot of shopping, for me this time. Now I hate shopping with a passion, but I really had a hankering for a pair of Italian leather shoes so off we set. We walked the entire length of Via del Corso right up to Piazza del Popolo and I don't think we missed a shoe shop. They either had nothing that I liked, nothing that I could afford, or if I

In the end I simply gave up and we returned to the hotel for drinks with our lovely view before another dinner at Hostaria al Pantheon, next door. This time we ate Scaloppini al Vino, delicious.
