Leaning Tower of Pizza!
um guys, wheres the pizza?? lol Hey All!!!!
IM IN ROME!!! wow its un'be'lievable!!!!
I guess I should start back at French Riv. Last I left you we were about to go to Monaco!! What a place! We were fortunate enough to see it at late day, dusk and at night! Pretty incredible! They dont scrimp on anything! Paid my 10 euros to get into the grand casino. was slightly disappointed as I thought it would be much bigger and it was somewhat quiet... but the bathrooms make up for it. If you go be sure to check out the bathrooms!!! After that Me Becs Shaun Asha Carls and Wicksey all went to the piano bar down the road for some €14 cocktails (yes... thats aobut $20! holy frick). but they were sure good! plus the piano and guitar guys were excellent... they even played jack johnson!!!! traffic out of monaco was HORRENDOUS due to a soccer game and we didnt get back until about 1am. pretty everyone passed out on the coach on the way home then we all pretty much just crawled to bed.
Left from Antibes for Florence ummm.....Sunday? I think? haha i have no idea what day it is. Drive
Monaco Bitches
Becs and I in front of the glorious lights of MONACO! along the French Riviera was absolutely GORGEOUS!!!! Had my camera pressed up to the window of the bus for half the trip haha. Got to see Tower of Pisa along the way. Got into our cabins in Florence (which were absolutely luxurious.... each cabin had its own sitting area, bar fridge and BATHROOM! sweet as!). Went into downtown Florence around 8 or so for a big one at The Red Garter. OMG what a night. Happy hour we got pitchers of cocktail for 20€ as well as 20€ for a 3.5 L cooler of Heinekin we nicknamed 'Herbie'. There was kareoke and dancing all night long. pretty sure our entire tour was off chops that night. it was great.
Monday we spent touring around Florence. such a pretty city and very clean compared to many of the other place we had been. unfortunately the museums were closed cause it was monday (ya, wtf!) so we couldnt see David and had to settle for the replica. Also had the most expensive glass of coke in my life when in florence... 7€...which is about $11!!! CRAP! went for a 7 course tuscan dinner that night. it was wonderful. had antipasti meats
Red Garter
Becs, Mindy, Shaun, 'Herbie', Krystal, Moi et Ash and breads, bruschetta (so different than what we call bruschetta at home), cheeses, pastas, more meats, salad and a really nice dessert that was like tiramasu but fruity instead of coffee flavored! had a couple shots of limonchello and it was off to space electronic discotech! coolest bar ive ever been to in my entire life!! the serving bar was actualy a giant aquarium!! most ppl didnt get too crazy as everyone was still hungover as from the night before but we did shake our things until about 4am!!
Yesterday (Tuesday) we made our way from Florence to Rome. What a spectacular city. It finally made me believe i was in italy! Went on walking tour around the Forum as well as trevi fountain and a few other places last nite. we had a walkaboutdinner meaning we had to find our own. becs, shaun ash and i found a wicked little cafe out of the way and had a four course dinner for 16€. we got a bottle of house red, REAL brushchetta, a pasta dish (i had lasagna), a meat dish (roasted chicken and salad for me) and creme caramel for dessert! like i needed that dessert.... ive
Space Electronic Disco
Sweet ass bar! Its a freakin aquarium! You can see Shaun (pink shirt) and Becs dancing. Crazy ass night woohoo had about 11 flavors of gelati since weve been in italy hahahah ive had tiramasu and banana at Pisa, pineapple and raspberry in Florence and (this is so sad...) coconut, nutella, kiwi, grapefruit, mascapone, ferre roche and black cherry since ive been in rome (all of about 1 day hahah). oh well ... when in rome right!? stayed in rome until about 9 then we headed back to the cabins for a quiet nite.
This morning we toured the collesum (soooooo cool! now i need to see gladiator again when i get home!) as well as a church called S. Maria Concezione which has a crypt of about 5 or so rooms that are decorated entirely by the bones of the Cappucin Monks. Just amazing. there were bones on the ground, the walls, the ceilings and everwhere in between. even the light fixtures were made of bones. couldnt take pictures but i bought a few postcards there. also checked out the spanish steps (more like 'shitty steps'.... sooooooo not as great as i thought they would be!) today as well as St. Peters Basilica. WOW! Words cannot even describe St. Peters. Unfortunately also lost Becs somewhere at St. Peters
Roman Forum
almost 40 degrees that day and for some reason I decide to wear almost all black! im silly :P so thought I would find an internet cafe. And here I am! Oh ya we had the most wickedest grilled sandwichs (or 'sangwiches' as the guy working the stand called them!) at the weirdest place today... some dodgy food stand in the metro station at the collesum ....but Carls (our tour manager) told us yesterday to try them and we were not disappointed!! Not sure yet what is going on tonight. There is a pool with a bar at the campsite as well as a disco (camp sites in europe have amazing facilities!!) so i think we are just going to have dinner and chill about there a bit. We are getting up very early tomorrow to go to the Vatican as we couldnt go there yesterday or today because of the Feast of the Assumption (its a very big holiday here). Then we are headed to VENICE!!!
I'm sure im probably forgetting a million things but time is running short so I must be off!!
luv amberto bellini
