These are the room mates ...
The pig (who can not use a trash can is the one standing in front). But the rest are fun to have as roommies Buonasera,
Well this is suppose to be the start of our long weekend. I say suppose to be becasue we were given our new assignment and have our independant project to do. So free is relative ... lol To give a clue our next group project is of St Ivo, which is one of the Baroque Masterpiece churches and by my favorite architect of that time period Borromini, San Carlo @ Fountains is also his. My all time favorite building of this time periond. The recent visit we took to it confirms this.
So what we need to do is document this church with original photos ... becasue we know so much more than the professors and historians who have already documented it and put the info on the web for us.... along with digrams and a case study analysis (which will contain no more than 2000 words but must occupy 15 pages). Now on top of this we all have independant projects that are in the works. Mine has changed once again .... not that I have commitment issues but something more intresting always seems to come along. I am now actually doing a project that I like and find FUN. This is the key word. One of my classmates wanted to study the migration paterns of the pigeons and cats. This idea was nixed by one of the the Resient Adisors but not buy the other. So they assigned him an independant project. I am glad I did not get to that point. So I am documenting the ornamentation that lighting takes on in the various areas of Rome (including the EUR, Vatican & Popilo) Which is soooo easy because where ever I sight see I just document the lighting ornamentation of street lights and where it is located. The neat part and one of my favorites is that I need to take the previous pulic spaces and take night photos and explain how the placement of the light also transforms the space from day to night. Since I have found that I love Rome from the hours of 9:30ish pm to 10:00ish AM this is great. I get to do it while I sketch. Not to metion those tourist (I will make the distinction that I am a temporary roman) are pesky and halarious. It is funny what people say and do when they are not aware that you understand the langauge they speak. The most fun I have had is pretending to sketch (pretending is more fun than actually and you can watch without being detected). People are so rude to one another when they are sure you do not speak the same language. Now I can only understand what the english speaking people are saying to the other and a bit of Italain. But it is quite comical.
So what I am doing is not nearly as hard is what other people are making themselves do. Then others are being plain rediculous. I chose a safe meduim. But I do have a lot of work to get done between now and the review. On monday one of my favorite types of architecture MODERN.... all day. We are going on a modern day feild trip day. Which could be a welcome releif from the architecture of the past. Not that I am not enjoying it. But they do not schedule nearly enough down days. They say the weekends are ours but that is also relative. That is one thing I will enjoy as I get to travel on my own again - my own schedule and pace.
So Today I booked the last of my hostels in Paris and S. France so that completes where I need to stay. I will be booking the last of my train reservations and that will wrap up the most part of the ending of my trip. I hope Bran is up for some early mornings when she gets here. The best times to site see is when no one else is there. Sketching at 6:30ish in the morning leaves a good 3 -4 hours before the nuts start to come out in masses. That is one nice thing about vacations everyone likes to sleep in a little later. I have not gotten to the Gelato place that has the TO DIE FOR CHOCOALTE but I will find it by MOnday. I attempted the colosuim today and the line was much too long. Will do that first thing monday morning.
Today was basically a down day and to study a little italain. We have our mid term on Monday and two weeks after that class is done and we have our final. SO the quarter is moving quickly and I am a very happy about that. I do miss Jasmyn, a captive partner in crime is better than none at all. I must say she is very good natured when we have to do things for school and I miss the happy meal runs.... no reason to go know. I have been once and it was not the same. The Fish Fillet tastes a little funny over here. So I am looking forward to normal things back home. But I am enjoying my time hear much more since getting perment roommates.
Well I think that will about wrap it up.
Ciao!!!!!!!
