hehe had to ask cos when I was in Paris, you were in Paris, when I was in Rome, you are in Rome! hehe.. and no, rooming with you 2 wasnt too bad, much better than Cal anyway hehe (KIDDING) and this is a really annoying keyboard but anyway..
The flight to Rome was rather uneventful except for when I checked in in Paris I got caught by the apparent 20kg weight limit.. Nothing on any of my documents says that this is the weight limit so ARGH!! I have 2 more flights with this airline too within Europe so am going to have to do a major overhaul of everything in my suitcase.. Not fun!
So here I am in Rome and I must say my introduction to the city put me slightly off although over the last few days I am liking what Im seeing more.. lets just say everyone told me to watch out for the Frenchmen but no one mentioned the Italians!! Who are about 10times worse! Walking down the street, I got many a leered hello, not to mention the drivers honking their horns as they drove past and the waiter who seriously tried
to pick me up my first night in Rome! My god! haha, I suppose I should take it as a compliment but its seriously drove me nutty!! At 16 I was dying for that amount of attention, now I cant stand it!!! Seriously, hate it!! Now if it was attention from the right source.. Now that would be a different story hehe..
My second day in Rome, I finally managed to work out the metro here.. Brad and Cal, if you thought the metro in Paris was confusing and dirty, NEVER EVER try the one in Rome, makes the one in Paris look like the easiest and cleanist on the face of the Earth! Anyway finally worked it out and made my way to the Colessum.. Where I found a hop-on-hop-off city tour which I prompty jumped on! Loved these things! Such a good way to see the city! After this adventure, I arrived back at the Colessum where I explored the ancient ruins of where the gladiators used to fight, along with about a million other people! After exiting I was jumped on (not literally) by 2 gladiators who insisted on taking my photo with them, it was
only after that they demanded €5 each and in a way that said not paying was not an option! Cunning I tell ya, the bloody Italians are cunning.. And somewhat sleazy, was expecting it in France but not here!
Got back on an extremely packed metro to head back to my hotel (my hand on my bag the whole time, Ive learnt my lesson in packed trains hehe) and just about witnessed a major fistfight between this lady who fully shoved this guy off the train in order to get off and he shoved her right back and then she like pounced on him and I couldnt tell if her friend was trying to keep her off him or join in.. Rather entertaining once I got out of the way! haha...
