Day 3 : Sunday 8 September 2019 : Rome and the Appian Way We got up and walked the cutest back streets across to Venezia to take Bus 118 (easy to catch once you work out how to validate your ticket, on the bus!) to the Appian Way, the ancient road that the Romans used to move their troops and visited the catacombs of San Callisto (€8pp).The Catacombs don’t have any bones left in them, but they are a little creepy. The holes of the kids/babies was the worst. Interesting though. Extremely long walk home. Was heading to the Giardini degli Aranci,(Orange Gardens) but got distracted and walked back via the Colosseum and Palantine Hill, so imposing. So many people late in the day, and still hot, so decided to get some photos of the Colosseum and head home. Stuck our head in another beautiful little church. Out for some drinks first at Campo di Fioire (€31) and Carefours €20 for dinner at home.
Walked 21kms or 28,000 steps and 13 floors : CC €57 Cash €30
