Trevi Fountain Day 4 : Monday 9 September 2019 : Rome Attractions and Borghese Gardens First thing we headed to the Trevi fountain. No crowds, but it was turned off so it could be cleaned and also in shadow ☹ but still good ?. Onto the Spanish Steps and more beautiful little Piazzas. Pastries for morning tea (€6). Up we go to the Borghese Gallery and Gardens. We got lost in the expansive gardens, and found a pond, fountain, harp player but the gallery is closed on Mondays ☹ (Let me say it was on the very far corner from where we started!)
Starving – need more pizza!. Hard to find our way out, but ended up down at the Santa Maria Bassilica and the Piazza de Spagna which was huge. Took the opportunity to go through the Leonardo da Vinci Museum (€39) and then some pizza (€13) and a stop at H&M. We can’t afford the clothes here. And of course you have to finish the day with drinks. Aperol spritzers ? didn’t enjoy them.
For dinner we headed over to Trastavere which was so beautiful. We did a self guided DIY tour thanks to the internet that not
everyone in the family appreciated ☹. They abandoned the tour guide (mum) and stopped off for drinks in the middle of the tour! Drinks in Trastavere are cheaper €3.50- €5 vs €7. Ended up at Taverna Della Scala and had to eat inside (was really busy everywhere) and had lovely meals, but meat didn’t come with anything. (€55).
Walked 23kms or 30,000 steps and 20 floors : CC €90 Cash €55
