Ferrari Museum Tour

After a couple of days around the Villa and hanging out at the local swimming pool, we picked up Mhairi from the Montecatini Terme Train Station. We had a quiet dinner at Il Maialetto which translates to The Little Pig and as names I had to have their suckling pig for dinner. Rose and Mhairi shared a T-Bone steak which was cut from a whole side presented at the table where the girls could choose how thick the steak should be cut. This restaurant has a well deserved Michelin rating.

As you would have guessed from the heading of the post, Rose, Mhairi and I all went to Maranello to visit the Ferrari Museum, we wanted to also do the factory Tour, but the tour was booked out 2-3 weeks in advance, and I didn't research early enough. Anyway the Museum is a fantastic showcase of Ferrari's long and distinguished history with Motor Racing and the production of Road cars from the technology gained from their racing programs.

The Museum also had a temporary exhibition of the #30 Ferrari 296 GT3 which won the 2020 Nürburgring 24 Hour Race for Sabine Schmitz’s Frikadelli Racing with Kiwi Earl Bamber as one of the four drivers.

We managed to pick up 1 Ferrari Factory Tour ticket which Mhairi went on while Rose and I had a coffee in the Cafe. Thanks Mhairi for taking notes on the tour and coming back and giving as all the details and history of the factory (therefore we had our own private tour just no pictures)

After the tour Greg recommended Trattoria Griglieria la Fontana while the girls doubted my choices. How Rude! But as they tasted their lunch all doubts were removed and the they also had humble pie for dessert.

Once we had finished we need to get back to pick-up Krissy, our last guest arriving into Florence Airport.
