Taste Testing
Just ensuring the quality of Guinness.
Our job: take a drink from every keg exported to ensure every keg is up to Guinness' high standards :) Guinness is GOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooood! Thats pretty much all I can say about Dublin.
Nah, there is more to say, but it wasn't like I had pictured it. I think Dublin has become too busy and westernized with lots of neon lights and busy clubs all along fairly dirty city streets. What we should have done was head to one of the close by smaller towns or cities that would have been a bit more traditional for Ireland. But, it was still fun, the highlight being the Guinness tour at the Guinness Factory of course. Here we learned how Guinness is brewed while sampling many fine flavours and brews of Guinness, which I must say is oh so much better tasting in Ireland, like everyone says themselves after a visit. I found it to almost have a hint of coffee flavour in it, but damn it was tasty 😉
We also took a pub crawl tour, which although was a little low in number (around 10) it was still fun and managed to do the job of getting myself and Hawk annihilated. It took us to some of the pubs outside of the main backpackers area of Temple Bar (the area
Guinness Moustache
MMMMmmmmm........ oh so very good. we were staying in) so the beers were a little cheaper and the pubs weren't so crowded.
Other than the Guinness tour, pub crawl, and drinking a Guinness in every pub we came across, we took our last night a bit slower and went a saw a movie while recovering from a massive Guinness hangover.
I was excited to see the Jameson Whisky factory as well, but due to our short 2 day (3 night) stay here and all day hangovers, we didn't manage to make it... oh well, I guess next time.
Hmm... I wonder how many times I have mentioned Guinness in this journal...
