Very very early start this morning as we had a 7.20am flight!! And I had to mission my way to heathrow to meet sarah and Katie! I had to leave before the tubes started so it was super mucky and i had to get buses at 3am then grab the tubes once they started running at 5.30am and there were major delays so was a bit of a stress but got there in the end and meet the girls and grabbed some breakie before getting on our BMI flight. Katie caught Aer Lingus so we just met her when we arrived in Dublin. Was a good chance to catch up on all the goss with sarah as she had just got back from Austria where she was being a snowboard bum for the last 3 months! So was really good to see her! As soon as we arrived into Dublin airport we could see the festivities had begun! People everywhere dressed in green, school choirs singing and welcoming people into the city!
We managed to work out the airport buses – not difficult, and headed into the city to try and find our hostel. We stepped outside and it was
pouring and i mean pouring! We had no umbrellas and I was wearing my new very flat spring shoes from Madrid which were instantly soaked through!! On the way to the hostel we ran inside a shop to buy 3 matching umbrellas – Mellow yellows! They were great!! We found our hostel which was in an ideal spot on the river with all the bars and other hostels! Our hostel was absolutely pumping with excited people! We grabbed the room key as it was too early to check in and the key was this huge doll on a keyring!! A ginga girl in an irish green dress! It was great!! We thought she looked a cross between a ruth and a delihla so she was renamed – Ruliehla!! We changed socks and i was just counting down till ben arrived tonight with my Ug boots cos I had no other shoes! So we decided to find somewhere warmer and dryer and ducked into a bar that was completely dead but i wanted to go into cos it had awesomely cycidelic lights!! We all shared a guiness so we could say wed had one!! None of us particularly liked it but
wed done it! Guinesss – check!!
We then decided to find the hotel that katie and greg had booked into last minute! We got slightly lost and ended up walking for about an hour when it was maybe about 15mins away but ah well good exercise! Not so great for Katie who was carrying her massive pack cos she was travelling around the next month or so. We arrived at the hotel which was soooo flash! A massive king size bed and nice bathroom etc! (our hostel was a 22bed dorm room so def a step up from that!)Sarah and I were so jealous and we were all knackered so climbed into bed, i put katies pjs on and we had a 3way spoon and nanna nap for over an hour! The bed was amazingly comfy! By the time we woke up greg had arrived in Dublin and was on his way over so we instructed him to get pizza, lollies and cokes but he wanted to come drop his stuff first. So him and Katie went and got dinner and sarah and I decided to live it up and have a luxurious shower and use all katies dove
products – shampoo, conditioner, body wash, roll on deodorant and moisturiser! We felt, looked and smelt amaaaazing and had both developed a new love for dove! Katie was not impressed when we mentioned wed used her roll on! Meh!
The others came back with pizza, lots and lots of pizza, wine, coke and lollies and we all snuggled in bed, enjoyed and couldn’t stop smelling and feeling our very clean doved hair! At about 11 we thought we should prob head back and ben had arrived so I wanted to go say hey cos he was staying across the river with his mates. So, sarah and I made our way into town again and battled through crowds of people trying to find him. Finally managed to but we lasted a few songs then said goodnight and decided to try and get to sleep before the other 20 people in our dorm arrived and started snoring!!
