amazing dinner! We woke up today to the sound of rain and thought temporarily we were back in Edinburgh!! Disappointed but pleased wed done most of the exploring yesterday we headed down for breakie again which was same as the day before and just as nice. We then found out about shopping in Budapest and found there was a big mall relatively close to our hotel. So, we went in search firstly with our hood up for a new umbrella as Mellow Yellow had a sad unfortunate death in Copenhagen a few weekends ago L Umbrella above us we headed to the mall and did a spot of shopping. Well be did! Shirt, jeans and shorts – good effort! I didn’t buy anything but was really cheap shopping! Decided it was time for a baileys coffee (which seems to be the norm in Europe and you can literally buy them everywhere, just in a cafe in the mall etc – our kinda continent!) so relaxed for a bit and then headed back to the hotel.
We had read that Budapest was known for its thermal springs so we decided itd be a great day for sitting in the rain in the hot
pools. Trip adviser informed us that Szechenyi thermal baths was a good choice so ben the map man directed us there. We did struggle to find it and walked around it before realising that that was actually it! It was a very old style building with not a word of English inside! It was chaotic and everybody that wasn’t Hungarian was in a state of confusion! We entered the changing rooms and I was actually a lil scared. I couldn’t work out the lockers so ben had to put all our stuff in the mens ones! Luckily outside once we hopped in the big pool it was bliss!! Max 20mins it said in the pool – about and hour and a bit later we decided to explore the inside pools. Lots of diff temperature pools, even a 20deg pool which ben froze in – muppet!! We prob were there about 3 hours and had lots of fun, also mimicking some more extremely posing pics of these 2 girls! It was very funny! They even used the ”im a little teapot” pose in the water!!! What the?! So naturally we did too! Once dressed we wandered round taking some more pics
and stumbled across the whirlpool!!!! Both so gutted we had missed it and did consider for a sec changing back into our togs but it was too cold so sadly we sulked for a lil!
After the pools we went back and changed for dinner. We had found a well known lil Hungarian restaurant highly recommended so caught a taxi there but we would have had to wait 45mins for a table and we were way too hungry to wait so walked up the road and found another lil restaurant called Mokka. It was AMAZING! We had a set menu or thai chicken and prawn soup, lamb cutlets and rhubarb tart for dessert. Food was fantastic and the service was incredible. We had another amazing bottle of Hungarian red wine which I actually loved!! Def recommend this restaurant! We hung out there till it shut at midnight then headed back for our last night in our luxurious apartment! Despite the rain we had another great day!
We had to be up and ready to leave at 11am the next day for the airport so didn’t get to see any more of Budapest and unfortunately it was sunny and

baileys coffees warm outside but we were feeling slightly refreshed which was good and had a great weekend away. So we sadly got our flight back home but it was good cos we had a direct flight to Edinburgh this time round and got home by about 3pm so had the arvo to chill out a bit and get ready for our 3 days of work this week!!
