After a lie in this am we wandered down to our buffet breakie which was only continental but still pretty good. Muesli, croissants and danishes followed by attempting to use the coffee machine! Mum and dad – its the small version of your one and luckily we didn’t get that one for jen and rich cos it only does the coffee part from what we gathered and we then had to pour cold milk in it which kinda ruined the temperature levels of the experience!! But filled up and caffeined up we trip advisered for a while to figure out what we actually wanted to do for the few days we were here.

We decided to head across to Buda for the day to explore the old town. We dressed in semi summer clothes excited about the warmth and stepped outside. After flashing each other with our highlighter whiteness we decided a priority was to find some sunscreen which did prove difficult on a Sunday! But we eventually, after a few charades efforts found some kiddies spray on and lathered up. We wandered in the direction of water and walked across the Chain Bridge towards buda. The river was pretty

dirty but the bridge was impressive so took a few snaps. They had a cable car taking you to the top of Castle Hill but cos we’re just so pumping fit we decided to walk to the top which was actually a really nice walk. Such beautiful views of pest and the river and some of buda from the top. We wandered around takng it in for a bit. Thinking we were in search of The Castle we tried to find it. I came across a big pile of rubble which I was convinced that it was the remains of the castle so took some snaps of it. Later to find there isn’t one castle on castle hill (we don’t think) theres a few! So I then promptly deleted my outstanding pic of rubble!! We watched the changing of the guard which I haven’t see before – not that we had any idea what they were guarding and still don’t have any idea! But we got a pic taken with the guard and I was a little close cos as they started doing their ‘moves’ we were still posing away and he stepped closer to me knocking me (I thought he was just coming in for a cuddle!) but I continued smiling away, then he flings his gun up infront of my face and I was outta there!! Dead pan look on his face! Was very funny!! Look at the closeness in the pic J

We found a cute lil Hungarian restaurant for lunch with live Hungarian music circulating the tables and a very cute lil ausse girl dancing and clapping along to them. So they played waltzing matilda to her! We then continued to wander, had a drink up the top of the Fishermans Bastion which looked like a castle to me, had some more gorgeous views and watched an extremely posey couple taking pics so we proceeded to pose in the same manner after them! Hence the pics! J

We had read that the number one thing to do in Budapest was visit the Faust Wine Cellar so we located it and wandered down into this cave which was very cool but unfortunately we couldn’t get a booking for that day so we went and lay on the grass and had a lil nana nap instead!! Then continued to explore the gorgeous sights of buda, churches

and old streets and buildings. We then stumbled across a food festival type thing which was our type of thing!! 1euro strawberry daiquiris and free food tastings everywhere! Yum yum!

We had decided we wanted to do a cruise down the Danube river tonight so we made our way back down and across to Pest where the boats left from ad found a good cruise which was dinner, dancing and cruise for 15 pound! Bargain! We got on the boat which wasn’t that packed but really nice and had a great time! When we arrived we got a complementary peach schnapps shot and it was horrific!! Like petrol! I took one sip and he ben added mine and his to sprite to drink it! Pretty nice buffet dinner and dessert, live band playing all kinds of music, drunk couple dancing, awkward first date couples dancing like in primary school when you used to have to be a metre apart!! Ben and I even made it to the dance floor for a few dances and danced up a storm by bens lead!! J Beautiful lights all around Buda and Pest and gorgeous buildings were all lit up so outside it
